Finally A US Release,
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
It's about time TLC's "Now And Forever The Hits" to hit stores in the US. I've been waiting for this day for years. It was supposed to be out in Feburary 2004. Anyways this cd has 18 of TLC's greatest hits plus an unreleased track. My main problem with this cd is that the songs are edited. They reduce the times on the songs to make it fit onto one cd. I think that was a bad idea for a TLC greatest hits album. My other problem with this cd is that it is missing a few essential TLC tracks. It should have had "Freedom" the theme from the movie Panther that they participate in along with several other female artists (such as Queen Latifah, Aaliyah (rip), Salt-n-pepa, SWV, etc.), "Hands Up" T-Boz's My Getaway from Rugrats in Paris, Left Eye's The Block Party, and their Christmas song "Sleigh ride". I would also like to see the "TLC now and Forever : The Video hits" DVD get a US release. So far, the only countries I know that has that dvd release is Australia and Brazil. This cd is a little disappointing but a must own. RIP Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes

TLC-Hit After Hit, Do Not Miss This Album,
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
TLC Now and Forever The Hits is a CD that was released overseas several years ago. The CD is now available for sale in the U.S. This is a definitive TLC collection, well almost. The CD includes most all of their radio singles with the exception of "Hands Up" from the 3D album. One must conclude this might be because "Hands Up" wasn't released overseas as a single. This CD is exactly the same as the one released overseas several years ago. From the 3D album it includes the songs, "Damaged," "Girltalk," "Turntable," and "In Your Arms Tonight."
There are several things that irk me about this album--the songs aren't allowed to play out all the way. Several songs, most noticeably "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and "No Scrubs" fade out rather quickly. It really is a great set. TLC had so many hits and most all of them are here. The album opens with the song that started it all "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and is followed up by "What About Your Friends." TLC really defined the girl group movement of the 90's. Sure we had Xscape, SWV, Jade and Zhane, but no other girl group had hit after hit after hit and managed to reinvent themselves with every album. The album also includes the song "Get It Up," from the Poetic Justice soundtrack. The girls sound so young in this song. As the song fades out and Chilli says, "Get It Up, Get It Up, I'll Freak You All Night," the girls seem almost chickish--much different than the mature and sexy TLC they evolved into. We grew up with TLC and they grew up with us. The album also includes the rap versions of "No Scrubs" and "Waterfalls." It is a great album. Every song on this album takes me back to a time in my life. Pick this album up today!

A Big taste of Nostalgia,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
Ever had any group just "pop" into your head while you were absolutely doing nothing?! Such was the case for me a couple of days ago while I was (*groan*) going through my CD tower. I came across TLC's "Ooh, On the TLC Tip" CD, and thought surely these gals must have a "best of" collection somewhere. So, it was follow the yellow brick road to Amazon.com...
I don't believe I've enjoyed a CD this much in a long time. Every song was absolutely delightful; however, the cut of "Hat To The Back" is different than the one that's on "Ooh, On the TLC Tip", and I prefer that one more because it's WAY funkier. I also really enjoyed "Get It Up." That is a jam and a half! It is so sad to think how this great female group (one of the best ever, in my opinion) was torn apart by the unfortunate and untimely death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. They were all beautiful in their own way, and each contributed just as much as the other to the music. It is a shame the group's ending came about the way it did. That should prove to everyone not to take ANY day for granted; it may be your last. I miss TLC, but this CD will help keep them all alive and in my heart for a very long time! This one's a keeper guys!!
