5.0 out of 5 stars Finally A US Release
It's about time TLC's "Now And Forever The Hits" to hit stores in the US. I've been waiting for this day for years. It was supposed to be out in Feburary 2004. Anyways this cd has 18 of TLC's greatest hits plus an unreleased track. My main problem with this cd is that the songs are edited. They reduce the times on the songs to make it fit onto one cd. 2.0 out of 5 stars someone should mention this is censored
someone should mention this is censored . . . even though their main albums didn't have parental advisory warnings on them this compilation bleeps out some of the content. don't bother - get the original albums.

I think that was a bad idea for a TLC greatest hits album. My other problem with this cd is that it is missing a few essential TLC tracks. It should have had "Freedom" the theme from the movie Panther that they participate in along with several other female artists (such as Queen Latifah, Aaliyah (rip), Salt-n-pepa, SWV, etc.), "Hands Up" T-Boz's My Getaway from Rugrats in Paris, Left Eye's The Block Party, and their Christmas song "Sleigh ride". I would also like to see the "TLC now and Forever : The Video hits" DVD get a US release. So far, the only countries I know that has that dvd release is Australia and Brazil. This cd is a little disappointing but a must own. RIP Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes

5.0 out of 5 stars TLC-Hit After Hit, Do Not Miss This Album, June 28, 2005
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
TLC Now and Forever The Hits is a CD that was released overseas several years ago. The CD is now available for sale in the U.S. This is a definitive TLC collection, well almost. The CD includes most all of their radio singles with the exception of "Hands Up" from the 3D album. One must conclude this might be because "Hands Up" wasn't released overseas as a single. This CD is exactly the same as the one released overseas several years ago. From the 3D album it includes the songs, "Damaged," "Girltalk," "Turntable," and "In Your Arms Tonight."

There are several things that irk me about this album--the songs aren't allowed to play out all the way. Several songs, most noticeably "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and "No Scrubs" fade out rather quickly.

It really is a great set. TLC had so many hits and most all of them are here. The album opens with the song that started it all "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and is followed up by "What About Your Friends." TLC really defined the girl group movement of the 90's. Sure we had Xscape, SWV, Jade and Zhane, but no other girl group had hit after hit after hit and managed to reinvent themselves with every album. The album also includes the song "Get It Up," from the Poetic Justice soundtrack. The girls sound so young in this song. As the song fades out and Chilli says, "Get It Up, Get It Up, I'll Freak You All Night," the girls seem almost chickish--much different than the mature and sexy TLC they evolved into. We grew up with TLC and they grew up with us. The album also includes the rap versions of "No Scrubs" and "Waterfalls." It is a great album. Every song on this album takes me back to a time in my life. Pick this album up today!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Big taste of Nostalgia, December 20, 2006

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
Ever had any group just "pop" into your head while you were absolutely doing nothing?! Such was the case for me a couple of days ago while I was (*groan*) going through my CD tower. I came across TLC's "Ooh, On the TLC Tip" CD, and thought surely these gals must have a "best of" collection somewhere. So, it was follow the yellow brick road to Amazon.com...

I don't believe I've enjoyed a CD this much in a long time. Every song was absolutely delightful; however, the cut of "Hat To The Back" is different than the one that's on "Ooh, On the TLC Tip", and I prefer that one more because it's WAY funkier. I also really enjoyed "Get It Up." That is a jam and a half!

It is so sad to think how this great female group (one of the best ever, in my opinion) was torn apart by the unfortunate and untimely death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. They were all beautiful in their own way, and each contributed just as much as the other to the music. It is a shame the group's ending came about the way it did. That should prove to everyone not to take ANY day for granted; it may be your last.

I miss TLC, but this CD will help keep them all alive and in my heart for a very long time! This one's a keeper guys!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Collection from an amazing RnB group, August 6, 2005
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
This album has all of TLC's big hits, and as you can see, there are a lot of them. From their first single, the funky, upbeat "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" to the pop/rock influenced "Unpretty" TLC show their sass, style and diversity. They easily go from hip hop (Kick Your Game) to sexy, seductive soul (Red Light Special) to jazz influenced rnb (Creep, and their megasmash Waterfalls) to songs that you wouldn't expect and RnB group to do, much less do well (Damaged).

Included in this great collection is the vocally and sonically beautiful tribute to late member Lisa Lopes in "Turntable" as well as two previously unreleased songs. The crunk styled "Come Get Some" shows that TLC can do crunk just as good as the boys and the nostalgic "Whoop-De-Woo" which is reminiscent of some of their staggering songs from CrazySexyCool and FanMail. All in all, this 19 track collection brings back great memories of the trio and demonstrates why TLC will always be remembered as one of the best female groups in history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even with Lisa gone--these are power hits....., August 5, 2005

This album is a great compilation for those just discovering TLC's hits and for those who simply want it to add to their collections. Even with Lisa gone, these hits sound just as good as they did when they were first released, and it was great that they included the "No Scrubs" version with the rap by Lisa. Other great hits are "What About Your Friends", "Hat 2 Da Back", "Creep", and of course "Waterfalls" (even though that is the most overrated song). A must for any true TLC fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now And Forever., October 20, 2005
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
TLC's greatest hits is a really good overview of their career, there are all the hits and some previously unreleased material. This really is an essential for any true TLC fan, TLC were simply one of the biggest groups of the 90's. Their albums, especially CrazySexyCool set modern standards for the music industry and paved the way for Destiny's Child. Left Eye may have sadly departed us but this collection reminds you of what TLC were, a great girl band.

Nice to have this collection finally get released. It should have come out in the states first anyway. Being a casual fan, and only owning "Crazy Sexy Cool" and "Fanmail", this collection was made for me. Included are the hits "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "Baby-Baby-Baby", "Waterfalls", "Unpretty", and numerous others. A big plus is that this also has the rap version of "No Scrubs", and I really missed that on "Fanmail". I admit I'd like another track or two from "Crazy Sexy Cool", like their cover of "If I Was Your Girlfriend", but no big deal. Overall a great disc from one of the best acts of the 90's. Long love Lisa, and good luck to T-Boz and Chili.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some classic material. Until the end..., August 19, 2005
This review is from: Now & Forever: The Hits (Audio CD)
This greatest hits collection, which was finally released after 2 years, has all of the classics. "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg", "Creep", "Waterfalls" and countless others. It even has the hard to find version of "No Scrubs" with Lisa's rap, which shoul've been included on Fanmail in the first place. But when the album gets to the end, it includes songs that weren't even singles from the mediocre flop, "3D". "In Your Arms Tonight", "Turntable", they weren't singles. Or at least not greatest hits. So why shorten songs, like "Red Light Special", when the stuff at the end could be cut out? It doesn't even have Lisa rapping, so what's the use. Plus, they're pretty bad songs, as most on 3D. (3D only has ONE song with a rhyme from LeftEye that was made for the track. The rest of the songs that she's on, her vocals were copied and pasted to the song.)

But they copy and pasted her vocals from "Friends" for the unreleased track from the 3D sessions, "Whoop De Woo". It's an okay song. Not a reason to buy this complete album.

But "Come Get Some" is a different story. It's actually a pretty good song, with some of Lil' Jon's best production. (It was released as a single two years ago when this CD was supposed to come out, but it didn't come on. The only time I heard it on the radio was at one in the morning.

Overall, this is a good collection of TLC's hits. But if you already have all of the albums, I would reccomend just downloading the two unreleased songs on iTunes. because they're not good enough to buy this whole album if you already have all of the songs.
