Wow! Donna Lewis' voice is the equivalent of being stared down on a bus by a beautiful woman to the point that you either look away or faint in a pool of your own sweat. It is hard to determine how much of the voice is hers and how much is tweaked by the studio process, but the result is sensuous and soulful. "I love you always forever" is the chart-topper, but "Without love" gets my marks for ear candy of the year. This album is ethereal and haunting, and terrific pop.

Those are high words coming from me, an agnostic. Truely though, she has the voice of an angel. Her lyrics are from the heart and nothing "commercial". "Now In A Minute" is a breathtaking experience. Tracks that stand out besides the #2 hit "I Love You Always Forever" are...all of them infact. But there's a couple that are really really good. Like "Nothing Ever Changes" and "Fools Paradise". I could seriously listen to those 2 songs forever. "Now In A Minute", is a great debut album, better then her sophomore effort "Blue Planet", which is also very good. But if you're knew to Donna, I'd say start with "Now In A Minute"...the songs are easier to get into. I really can't wait for her 3rd album...I'm giddy at just thinking about it. I guarantee you, I'll be at the store the very first day to pick it up.

This is one of the best debut albums ever! Donna's sweet and carming voice can relax you or make you want to get up and dance! "Without Love" with it's fast steady beat is a great opening song! "Mother" is a beautiful blend of loving admiration and alternative pop! "I Love You Always Forever" is a soft, romantic love song, but with a cool dance beat! "Agenais," my favorite song on the album, is a soft delicate song about a fantasy land. It sort of reminded me of the planet Uriel in the book "A Wrinkle in Time." "Fool's Paradise" is a fast paced song about how love can sometimes be a burden. And "Silent World" is a touching song about dealing with death, but still holding on to the memories. This is a must have for any music fan!

As I was looking down the list of reviews of Donna Lewis' debut, I was shocked to see how many people dislike this well-crafted cd. Of all of the cd's that I have bought in 1996, this cd is the one that I keep coming back to. I absolutely do not get tired of her music. It's so carefree and wispy, carries you in a dreamy-like landscape. All of the songs takes you to another world. Please do not pay attention to those other reviewers who have misled people with Donna's great music. This underappreciated artist definitely needs some respect!

When I first bought this CD here, I thought that it wouldn't be really good, but I bought it anyway. (I had a gift certificate.) When it arrived, I put it in the player and I knew that R&B could never compare. If you have heard "I Love You, Always Forever" and liked it, I am almost sure that you will like this album.

I had a bit of a hard time rating this album. I bought this album back in '96 on the strength of the song 'I love you always forever'. My first, initial reaction was disappointment. I listened to it a few times, and I just got annoyed by the babylike quality of her voice and never listened to it again. Now it's over 3 years later, and I put it in the cd player to listen to again, while reviewing it. I was all prepared to give it one star. But, so amazingly, I found myself quite enjoying it. It really does have pretty songs, like 'Silent World' which is just Donna's voice and a piano. So, I must say, that I am glad that I kept this album, and I will listen to it much more than once every 3 years.

I first listened to a track from this album - 'Without Love'- on BBC Radio 2 while I was driving home. The vocals and musical background were mesmerising, so I searched everywhere for the CD. That's how I came to learn about Amazon.com. The Voice,lyrics and music are to me like a cross between Madonna and Enya. Haunting and yet fresh and full of spirit. I would go as far as saying that Donna has provided us with more than a touch of the 'spirit and emotion' of Wales. Warmth, soul and imagination are three words of summary. Please lets have more !!

To tell you the truth, I really bought this cd because, I really like the song "I Love You Always Forever". Then I started to listen to the rest of this cd. I was like, "Mmm I like it". This album is very good. The song "Simone" puts me to sleep with smile on my face. Don't listen to all this people who say "this album ain't nothing". This album is very good, plus she's different from all these other singers. Go buy it, it's a really good album.

Any time I purchase a music cd that turns out to have more than 3 songs that I like and want to keep for compilations, etc., I figure I got my money's worth. From this cd, I saved 6 songs, all of which I like quite a bit, so I got twice my money's worth! The funny thing is that my 6 favorites don't even include her big hit. Her lyrics are thoughtful without being provoking or political. They are full of hope and thankfulness, and soothe the soul. The music is pleasing, mellow, and excellently produced. Her voice is mildy sensual and easy on the ear. Time and money well spent.

THis album is good, i like: love & affecctiion, I love you always forever, mother, without love, nothing ever changes , and more of them.
