Have liked this album for years. Funny songs. Not amazing as far as musicianship, but enjoyable none the less.

I have to say this album not only took me by surprise but made me like this band even more because Boy in man's world was just a little predictable and simply written, this album has more diversity and lets the world know that Mucky Pup can do more than just funny lyrics and catchy punk beats! The last three songs are the albums best and there are some great funky and heavy punk songs before them! Hotel penitentary is the big stand out of the early songs! If you like bands like Fishbone, Suicidal, Gang Green, MOD, DRI, even newer bands like Blink 182, American Hi FI, and Everclear you should give this a try!

If you like funny lyrics. Their first two albums rock. "Now" and "A Boy in a Man's World", are great. After this began thier decline. If you like the albums I've mentioned then amp it up and go to "The Blood Hound Gang". Kind of goes with the same type of sound and funny lyrics. These guys were better than the Beasty Boys. They (Mucky Pup) used to have a web site where you could down load their music for free. Haven't been there since I got these two albums on CD "Now" and "A Boy in a Man's World" (The only two I'd own). Hippies Hate Water is a Clasic! Thanks K2

good memories. fun band and actually played well to boot. their first and best ain't on here, "can't you take a joke" (heavy and raw even by today's standards), but follow-ups "boy in a man's world" and "now" are pretty good too, even as it laid out the deviated and somewhat listener-friendly path they would eventually settle on. you guys still alive?

5 stars for 'joke', 'boy' and 'now' get 3.5. i have spoken.
