Now or Never is the second book in Michele Bardsley's Wizards of Nevermore series and boy is Nevermore heating up.

Nevermore is a town in Texas under Dragon Rule.. it also happens to host a goddess fountain and we learn a nemetin. The Ravens have joined forces with the Demons and have decided to withdraw from the grand council an unheard of concept. Never in the two thousand years since the council was created has a house withdrawn.

In order to do so they must find a way to free Kahl.. they have come across a prophecy and are determined to make sure it leans in their favor.. to destroy the world as it now stands. Leaving chaos behind where they will gather what is left and rule. Of course they have to control the prophecy first.. and fight those that guard the fountain in Nevermore.

Taylor Mooreland is a Mundane and perfectly happy with it. He has no desire to be of magic kind.. He is sheriff of Nevermore and works well with the guardian and those who serve the goddess as well as the mundanes. He is loyal to his town, his friends and his family. It was hard for him but he has accepted that he does have an ancestor with some magic in him, from the house of the Wolf.. so his brother Ant will soon be tested as magic kind. But Taylor, nope perfectly mundane. Unless you count those dreams he has been having.. about a mysterious woman, in trouble that only he can save. *grins* and that's not all he's dreaming about her..

Lenore Whyte, at five was considered disposable and tossed aside by her power hungry father. She was condemned to death but with a little help from the undead.. she survived. From then on she was on the run with her mother. Never staying for long in any given place and slowly watching her mother go insane. Unaware that a spell has been cast upon her.. one that binds her powers and made her forget all that has come before. Once her mother dies she is captured and used as a virgin sacrifice.. Fortunately, those that want power want it now and tried too soon.. and Lenore's familiar (a white raven) finds Taylor and brings him to her.

Taylor and Lenore.. or Norie as she prefers discover a powerful connection one written by the gods themselves. They just need to figure out what it is.. Together they must find out who wants her dead and why.. They must figure out what her powers are and if they can be unbound and all this when the guardian's mother is coming for a visit. People are committing suicide and Ant is supposed to be tested by the wolf clan. Oh yeah and somehow the Ravens have tracked the death of a powerful Raven to Nevermore and want justice. It's a busy time in Nevermore these days.

I am looking forward to Ms Bardsley's next installment of her Nevermore series.. I can't wait to find out what happens next.. I hope the rest of you take the time to enjoy this wonderful series.. Discover Nevermore..and enjoy

The ongoing plot is exciting, the characters are interesting and the small town is charming. The relationship between Taylor and Lenore could have been a bigger part of the story but since they didn't declare undying love for each other I can live with that. They just had an instant connection that made them feel this is the one for me which does happen sometimes and I'm sure we will be seeing more about this couple in coming books.

Blood and lots of it! Sheriff Taylor Mooreland is shocked beyond belief to see the beautiful lady from his dreams bleeding and chained to an altar in the woods behind his house. He never knew these sacred grounds were on his land. He is magically led to the very spot whereupon he finds the chained woman. He is propelled to protect her, and that is what he is going to do. Magic swirls around them as Taylor releases her from the manacles. Who would do such a thing and why?

Lenore Whyte, an ethereal, beautiful lady, has powers unbeknownst to her. She is wanted by Kahl, the Master of the Underworld, as a sacrifice so he can release powers untold. She is a very important piece of the puzzle as to the happenings going on in the town of Nevermore. Lenore is kidnapped to be used as a sacrifice, but something goes wrong during the ceremony. Fortunately, the handsome sheriff finds her in time. Lenore is clueless as to how important she is and what it means to the town. Mysterious deaths have been happening and Sheriff Taylor and his magical comrades have their hands full dealing with the mess.

Unbridled wizardry and non-stop action are the ultimate hallmarks for Michele Bardsley's extraordinary second novel, titled NOW OR NEVER, in the WIZARDS OF NEVERMORE series. The story starts out with a brief history synopsis and segues into a bang-up storyline that screams more, more! The absolutely crazy, mesmerizing plotline held my interest from page one. I couldn't tear my eyes from the page lest I miss out on some important detail to the plot of the story. Ms. Bardsley does a magnificent job of blending magical characters with humans and making it all seem plausible. I have never read a paranormal romance story so compelling that the story left an impression on me that lasted a long while. NOW OR NEVER is the best paranormal romance story to come out in a long time. Go out and buy one now while they are still hot!
