David and his pal Jack are backpacking in Yorkshire. As darkness falls over the moors, David and Jack, cold and tired, try to get into a local tavern where they can warm up. They do not receive a warm welcome, and before long they find themselves back in the cold and drizzle. Shortly thereafter, they?re attacked by a big hairy critter, a monster which turns out to be a werewolf. Wounded but still alive, David regains consciousness in the aftermath of the attack, to find that his pal Jack was killed by the monster. Later, Jack?s mangled zombie begins showing up, telling David he has now contracted a hardcore case of the werewolf blues. The only way out is to kill himself. David can?t do it, and when the transformation finally hits him dead-on, to the tune of Bad Moon Rising, it is a long agonizing process reinforced by really cool special effects. David, his human side completely werewolf-immersed, hits the streets for some victims. The body count rises. Afterwards, the zombies of his victims begin to join Jack in the ghoulish visitation ritual. Jack wants David to kill himself; they all want him to kill himself. But he still can?t do it. Physically, the werewolf was pretty wicked, bulky, shaggy, almost bearlike, usually adapting a rough quadruped mode. The werewolf is particularly menacing within subway tunnels. Victims had about a 2% chance of outrunning the werewolf and a 0% chance of surviving the attack once it comes. And with each new crop of victims, David is visited by more mangled zombies. Admittedly, however, most of the zombies have a pretty good sense of humor about their plight. They can?t really move on until David is out of commission. The cops, or bobbies, whatever they?re called over there, end up doing the job for David, shooting him dead and ending his werewolf reign of terror.
