Ten Years After without Alvin Lee is utter blasphemy in some longtime fans' eyes, but that's exactly what occurred on the 2004 release by this veteran blues-rock outfit, Now. Out went Lee, and in came replacement singer/guitarist Joe Gooch, who joins longtime members Chick Churchill (keys), Leo Lyons (bass), and Ric Lee (drums). Any fans having reservations about how well Gooch fits in will quickly have their worries erased -- the group's newest member possesses a fine voice (check the laid-back closing track, "Changes"), and can throw down boogie riffs with the best of them ("When It All Falls Down," "Time To Kill," etc.). It may even appear as though the presence of Gooch has breathed new life into the band, as Now is their most focused and strongest studio album in quite some time. As evidenced by Now, the classic Ten Years After sound and approach remains the same, although now it's a bit more refined and mature than the wilder, early records --Greg Prato - The All Music Guide --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

Originally released in 2004, "Now" is the first Ten Years After studio release since 1974 and represents the debut of Joe Gooch on guitar and vocals. The album comprises all original material composed by various combinations of the group members (Chick Churchill: keys, Leo Lyons: bass and Ric Lee: drums). Joe Gooch proved to be a hard taskmaster in this first outing with the new line-up, but his youth and creativity amongst the older members of TYA kicked the band into the 21st century with a bang and anyone with reservations of their continuation without Alvin Lee can rest easy. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

T.Y.A. Now is not stale, but absolutly suberb,. Joe Gooch is a young, and very fine guitarmaster, He brought T.Y.A. back a lot of the young generation, I see it on many live gigs in Austria and germany. Together with the well known experience from Leo/Ric and Chick, Joe Gooch shows in "NOW" his amazing guitarwork.
The man from Wales is one of the best guitarplayers in the world, and "Now" is a real joy to listen, with some splendid new studiomaterial - it sounds not stale, but incredible good! Thanks a lot, boys!! (After)"WHEN IT ALL FALLS DOWN" comes a new ära - with FIVE STARS REVIEWS!

Ohhh - this new album from T.Y.A. is only super! In new musical clothes, timeless forever and the four members are very hard rockin guys. Ten Years After now rules the world. And the new frontman Joe Gooch is amazing. Don't worry, buy it- this is no mistake. AND ENJOY IT!This is punchy bluesrock and sounds great.

This T.Y.A. album is fantastic. Leo/Ric/Chick and the young, but incredible amazing guitarman Joe Gooch shows how good they can be without Alvin Lee.
In Europa nobody cry for Alvin Lee, because the audience can see on great summerfestivals a unbelievable Live performance of this phantastic T.Y.A. musicans. The "Now" CD is their visitcard in a new successful ära (200 live gigs in one year) and the boys are on a breathtaking " ROCKHEAVENFLIGHT" in wonderful colours -without Mr. Lee, what shalls!
(I don't listen to the moaning of a few petrified old white hair people.
Look in the future - the time is mature - and listen to Joe Gooch - it's clear to hear who the better of both is! )
