This is one of the most experimental projects of this unforgettable sax genius. "Minsk","Quiet city", "Ode" and "The meaning of the blues" are by far, the four most emblematic tracks.
But there's no minor theme all the way through. A real delight for all who still love and keep in their emotional memory to this unforgettable sax's master.

My Introduction to the Late Great Michael Brecker,

Words simply cannot convey the deep sadness I feel when I listen to Now you see it ....now you don't. This disc was my introduction to Michael Brecker and I must've listened to it constantly for 6 months back in the early 90's. Songs like "Ode to the Doo Dah Day" and the poignant and atmospheric "Quiet City" are a testiment to the talent and prowess of the musician and the intellect of the man. Also, "Dog's in the wine shop" is a moving piece of music. There will never be another like Michael Brecker and I am glad that this album became a part of my education in Jazz.

Wow! Check out Escher Sketch, A Tale of Two Rhythms. Some of the most creative juxtaposition of simultaneous time feels that I have ever heard occur on this tune. Michael Brecker has definitely come into his own as a composer, and it is a great thing for his loyal listeners. What a compliment to his always incredible playing.
