Great for beginners,

As a beginner in the Arabic language I found this book/tape to be very helpful with pronunciation. The transliterations are consistent and useful. It's great to have a dictionary and phrase book all in one small easy-to-carry volume. I would expect that travelers would find the dictionary particulary useful, as it includes an Arabic to English section organized by transliteration (not Arabic script). Since this is intended for travelers it contains only minimal grammatical information, but the grammatical notes are useful, and are enough for beginners and travelers. This is Egyptian Arabic, but contains an interesting section on the various Arabic dialects which would prove quite useful to anyone traveling to various Arabic-speaking countries.
