Great Taste,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
High quality flax oil at a reasonable price. I'm intolerant to fish oil so I use flax oil as an omega-3 supplement. To me it tastes like a cross between raw hazel nuts and raw almonds. I put a tablespoon on my granola every morning- I like the added nutty flavor.

Not pure flax,

Misleading, because it's not pure flax. Once I received it I was disappointed but I thought "hey, maybe it'll taste delicious with the sunflower oil, rosemary extract and all that..." but no, it's bitter and not enjoyable at all.

The impression given in all the details on the product page indicates that this is pure flax seed oil. In fact, it contains a number of oils, and while flax seed is said to be the main ingredient, those other oils are not what I was intending to pay for. In fact, for my purposes, the alleged anti-oxidant effects of the other oils get in the way with what I purchased this oil for (cast iron seasoning). I didn't realize this until after I opened the package, otherwise I would have returned it.

I ordered this because Flax Seed Oil was recommended by several nutrition books I read. No one warned me how bad it tasted! However, I will grin and bear. The bottle came in good condition and was full. Oragnic. As advertised.

The item was shipped timely in a container kept cold with an ice pack. I have been using this certain oil for seasoning for a skillet, a griddle and a dutch oven, all from strait iron! The certain properties that this oil has enables it to become a kind of "Hard Enamel finish" during the process. So far I have had great results! ..Though after looking closely at the ingredients it does contain a small amount of couple other natural things. But still works great! I have included a link here to explain more of the breakdown and process if anyone is interested.[...]

Flax Seed Oil "Bitter",
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NOW Foods Flax Seed Oil, 24 Ounces (Health and Beauty)
Apparently this flax seed oil was not kept under refrigeration at some point. A real no, no for flax seed. It is still within the expiration date but unfit to use because it is quite bitter. Because of heavy weight & cost to ship back, didn't send it back. A total loss.

I take flax seed oil, and when the local supermarket stopped selling it, I was happy to find it on Amazon. But I find this brand of oil gives me bad gas when I take it, which I believe is due to the oil being bad. I bought two bottles which I don't know what I am going to do with, hate to throw them away.

How exactly does one review a bottle of flax seed oil? Well, it's oil...and I'm taking it on faith that it's flax seed. It is a little expensive especially when you figure in shipping, but when there isn't a near by health foods store, you takes what you can get. Everything I have made with this oil from eggs for breakfast to eggplant parm for dinner has been delish. I take some of the credit...but the rest goes to this quality product--I know my dishes were healthier & my vegetarian hubbie is finally getting all the Omega-3 he needs!
