More About the Author

Katherine Applegate's many books include the Roscoe Riley Rules chapter book series, the picture book The Buffalo Storm, and the award-winning novel Home of the Brave. With her husband, Michael Grant, she wrote the hugely popular series Animorphs, which has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Katherine was inspired to write The One and Only Ivan after reading about the true story of a captive gorilla known as Ivan, the Shopping Mall Gorilla. The real Ivan lived alone in a tiny cage for twenty-seven years at a shopping mall before being moved to Zoo Atlanta after a public outcry. In this book, the Remnants are basically riding big things called Blimps in the beginning. Then, they're on the USS Constitution, fighting Blue Meanies and Squids. Billy finally wakes up, the baby speaks (once), and Tate becomes more into the story. The story is also told from a Rider's point of view. There is some action. Emphasis on the word SOME. More people die, some don't. This book was OK.

the remnants join together again, then they ride things called blimps. Mo'Steel and Jobs take some hoverboards and fight some riders. they get on some version of the uss constitution and accidently blow up a statue which makes the blue meanies pissed as hell, so they start firing darts everywhere. some people are knocked overboard, some are shot. yago finally gets his dream: control of everyone...except tamara and the baby

The Group of 'Remnants' is lost,that's all there is to it,they are lost.they are stuck in a ship that calls it self 'mother',they are in a computer generated enviroment,in the middle of a cooper-colered sea in a ship 500-hundred years from an earth thats doesn't exist any mor.face it,they are in Nowhere land..........
