My son is in the 3rd grade and we bought this book for a book report he needed to do on an idol of his. It is a great book that is appropriately comprehensive in covering Dirk's background, but definitely a bit too young for a 8 year old who is a strong reader. This might be better for a 2nd grader. Includes large text, etc. A decent book though and my son liked it!

If your kiddo likes Dirk and wants a very basic book about him--ths is a cute one to add to their library! Of course it doesn't tell yo anything you don't already know if you are a Dirk fan--but the kids will like it for their collection on this wonderful sports idol!
