very bright flashlight, November 10, 2009
This review is from: Nu-Flare Ultra- Compact 78R91AA Luxeon Rebel 90 6W LED Flashlight - Zoom Focus, Use One AA Battery 100 Lumens, Bright and Efficient (Toy)
Pro = This is a very good quality and bright flashlight. This is one of a few AA battery flashlight that has an adjustable beam. I don't adjust it all the time but it's nice to set it to the size you want at anytime. Half dead AA batteries aren't good for much of anything but when you put them in this flashlight, it's still brighter than my 2C cell Maglight with a 3 Watt LED bulb and fresh batteries. Even with a half dead battery, the color is white, about twice as bright as a Maglight. So far, one half dead AA battery is lasting me over a week with about 8 minutes of use everyday. A fresh battery will make it even brighter but there's no need. The electronic circuit, the brightness and run time on this flashlight is amazing.
Be aware, the beam comes out as a square instead of a circle like most flashlights, it's not a big deal, kind of nice once you get used to it.
Con = This is what I didn't like, the center of the beam is a little off to one side instead of being centered on the beam. It's no big deal but would have been nice if they were able to center the light beam. The same thing happens when you drop a none LED bulb.
I have other flashlights, most are not as bright as this one, 2 are brighter but they cost more, are bigger and they don't use AA batteries. This thing is small, you hold it with your fingers like a pencil. This has replaced my 2C cell Maglight, this is now my favorite flashlight and would buy it again if I lost it or but it as a gift.

Great light, great bang for the buck but use rechargeables, February 5, 2010
This review is from: Nu-Flare Ultra- Compact 78R91AA Luxeon Rebel 90 6W LED Flashlight - Zoom Focus, Use One AA Battery 100 Lumens, Bright and Efficient (Toy)
I ordered this light the same time I also ordered a Fenix LD10 which is just about the same size and also uses just one AA battery. I decided on AA or AAA run flashlights due to me already having several rechargeables in that type and availability in most stores. I intended to use this attached to my shotgun as a tactical light for night confrontations but I started a new job involving the need to look into dark areas, holes and above ceiling tiles in office buildings. I figured this would maybe be more versatile for work since it can be adjusted to flood the area as well as spot beam. I love this light. It lasts on avg about 2 good days of on and off usage at work before it gets noticeably dim and I have to pop in a new rechargeable AA battery. I HIGHLY recommend buying a set of rechargeables because the regular alkalines may be cheap but it gets costly over the long run. This light seems durable and it might be useable for quite some time....or until some much better light technology comes out with affordable prices.
Both lights emit a great amount of light. Fenix is a little brighter at its highest setting (of 5 modes) but also costs about $25 more and eats up AA batteries at the same rate on that mode. Fenix doesn't have the flood setting tho. Then again, Nuflare's spot beam has a square/rectangle shape to it which isn't that big of a deal to me but bugs some people.
Bottom line, if you usually just use your flashlights at max output/highest energy usage like me and prefer to have a light with room flood option, then go ahead and just get a Nuflare over the Fenix. Its almost 2 of the price of 1. I haven't tested either in rugged conditions besides my blue collar job so that consideration is up to you.
Also, if you don't mind using CR123A batteries (that can also be found in rechargeables), Nuflare also makes a light at 220 lumens using 2 of those batts for about $42 currently. Thats twice the lumens for $12 more if you don't mind the battery issue or already have those types.

GREAT!!!, October 5, 2009
This review is from: Nu-Flare Ultra- Compact 78R91AA Luxeon Rebel 90 6W LED Flashlight - Zoom Focus, Use One AA Battery 100 Lumens, Bright and Efficient (Toy)
I'm not a "flashlight" expert, but this thing is great! I use to have the Gerber Tritac and was not happy about how far is lighted up an area, it was only good in close range and for that price, $60 2 years ago, also, the button broke and won't turn on any longer, needless to say, I need and want more out of a light that I use daily. WELL, Now i've got it and at 1/2 the price!!! This little rebel is super bright for one LED and only on 1 AA battery! I am going to buy another one right now. I HIGHLY recomment this light! The adjustable beam is great also.
