Nu Flava brings peace to a stressful day., May 31, 2000

In my search for comtempory gospel, I found this CD a perfect blend of jazz and gospel. A smooth jazz taste with God leading the way. I pray this group continue their efforts in the music world to bring God to those who don't know his name. Love the CD. Look forward to the next one.

THE BEST BLEND OF JAZZ & GOSPEL I HAVE EVER HEARD, July 25, 2011
This review is from: The Nu Flava (Audio CD)
When I 1st heard this CD I couldn't put it down.Kompani was one of the few bands of ANY genre that combined gorgeous vocals(Pamela Best)with absolutely stunning keyboard playing and musicianship in general(Brian Clay).I my mind this album is the perfect molding of the 2 genres. But anyone who has not seen Mr. Clay perform live is missing out on a VERY SPECIAL TREAT!!! His playing reminds me of a combination of Joe Sample,George Duke,Alex Bugnon, and Ramsey Lewis. He has captivated audiences all over the Atlanta area for the past 9 years as an opening act for Duke,Bugnon,Norman Brown,Stanley Clarke,The Rippingtons,David Sanborn, and Najee as well as opening the WJZZ 2005 Jazzfest for Steve Oliver,Euge Groove, and Rick Braun. This gentleman's talent is well known and respected throughout the music industry.I also am proud to say that He and His wife Rhonda have been 2 of my family's best friends for a long time.He has worked for the now defunct WJZZ 107.5, and for Praise 102.5 gospel stations in Atlanta as well.I have listened to jazz fusion sice I was about 17 years old and have had the good fortune to be able to see some of the best, including the who's who of Jazz that I mentioned earlier, bur Mr. Clay ranks right up there with them.My Wife and I just saw him perform at Union City Nissan in Fayetteville,Ga. yesterday afternoon, which had to rank right up there with the best jazz/gospel concerts I have seen. The level of excitement was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!! I have always hoped that Chris could acquire the national audience that I believe he so richly deserves, and I will never give up hope that he will succeed in doing just that. For all of you that enjoyed Nu Flava, you should also check out Lookin For Something, which was released about 2-3 years ago,and probably could be located from His website, jazzpirations with Brian Clay. This man is a true performer and should be seen whenever he's in your area.
