Numeri is a decent film that falls into the mild horror genre.

The film centers around Mari, a marine biology student who gets a summer camp internship at a research fishery. Before she goes to the camp, her friend Nanako asks Mari to hook her up with a spot on the student team. Nanko is approved by the lab and the two girls go to the camp. The camp is supposed to be focusing on ways to create better fish for consumption. Apparently marine life is not plentiful like it once was. The scientist in charge has been conducting expirments to clone fish and other forms of sealife.

Eventually Nanko begins sleep walking at night and stumbles into the restricted lab. While there she is apparently invaded by small pirahnna type fish that eat their way into her body. It seems like the incident occurs over several nights, and Nanako is unaware of the fact that she has been sleep walking. She believes she is having bad dreams. Eventually Nanako drowns while attempting to scuba dive by herself one morning. The film never explains exactly what occurs, but a tiny fish jumps out of a wound on her chest and the diagnosis is that she bled to death.

Mari meanwhile suspects something strange is going on and eventually goes into the restricted lab of horrors. Besides seeing strange bottled sea creatures she encounters flying pirahnna fish heads. She also gets attacked by living seaweed twice. At one point she is also attacked by jumping shellfish that try to suck her blood.

The film sorts intself out in the end. I won't spoil it for you.

Numeri was a good film in my book because it seemed like a fresh idea. It's a low budget production, but no worse than what you might see on the Syfy or Sci Fi Channel. There is a slight amount of blood, but no over the top gore.

This film rates one star because no option for zero. The description of the film as presented makes it seem to be a low budget but good film to watch. The back of the case reads how Mari goes to work at the Pacific Institute and deaths and tragedy ensues as something from the ocean is causing this. No, that is not what happens. For the first half of this 76 minute film we are treated to what seems like a reality show as the characters introduce themselves to each other and what they hope to accomplish. One girl decides to walk around at night and snoop around. She is soon found dead and Mari wants to investigate why. Of course the mystery is why Nanako had fish scales growing on her body. But that is the only death as the students are forced to leave. Mari breaks into the "secret" lab and is attacked by flying fish heads with teeth, killer seaweed, and carnivorous horseshoe crabs. I suppose if one was drinking alcohol by this time it might engender a few laughs. This is not low budget, it is no budget. Once the film was over was very sad that this purchase was made.
