Product Description

Color: Black

This Nu-Wave oven is designed to produce succulent meats, poultry, and fish. The Nu-Wave quickly and easily cooks foods while keeping them moist on the inside, and crisp and browned on the outside with out using any fats or oils. Convenience and versatility comes from its small, light weight and portable size for use in RVs, dorms, boats or as an extra oven for big gatherings. Start the oven and watch the food sizzle and brown under the clear plastic dome. The safe infrared rays allow you to barbecue, roast, grill, bake, broil, dehydrate, steam and air fry.

Save up to 85% more energy by using 1500 watts rather than conventional ovens' 3500 watts. No smoke is created so no ventilation system is needed. All parts, except the power head, are dishwasher safe and all oil splatters are self-contained. The polycarbonate dome is clear, lightweight, highly durable, while the stainless steel cooking rack is reversible for multiple uses. Easy to clean, the eco-friendly, nonstick liner pan base can also be used as a serving tray. The dome holder keeps the power head within reach while you prepare food. The NuWave cooks most foods up to 50% faster than a conventional oven, without preheating or defrosting, for the best in flavor and taste.

This tabletop infrared oven comes with an extender ring kit, allowing you to cook up to a 16 pound turkey, which includes a 3 inch extender ring, increasing your cooking capacity by up to 50%. The oven includes owner's manual, quick & easy cooking guide, recipe book and low-carb diet recipe book.

The internet is full of complaints of cracks in the plastic domes of NuWave ovens!

I love the way it cooks boneless, skinless chicken breasts - tender and juicy.

This is an excellent oven but do not buy it. They have a problem with cracking domes that the manufacturer knows about but refuses to fix. If you report it in time (warranty) they charge you $10 to ship a new one but from there on you pay for everything. Cracks start showing up in as little as 3-4 uses and will need replacement in as little as 10-15 uses. I know of 4 people whose domes have failed. Note that their 4 year free extended warranty DOES NOT cover the dome!

My wife and I purchased the digital NuWave oven with extender ring.
The oven was shipped very quickly with no damage so that was great!
We have cooked with it for a couple of weeks now. I like how it cooks and
keeps all the heat and flavor inside. I would have gave it a higher rating
but the cooking times posted on the infomercial were a bit misleading I thought.
Just about everything they showed was cooked in 13 minutes.
Well, it takes a little longer for everythng we have tried. Especially if you are
cooking raw vegetables like carrots or potatoes with your meal. Expect more like 45 minutes
before they are not too crunchy. Thick meats like large chicken breasts or pork tenderloins take
longer as well, more like 30 min. You have to put foil over the top of them to keep them from scorching the outside, but the foil slows down the cook time. We still really like the cooker, I am just saying don't plan on everything taking only 13 minutes to cook. It takes longer and you will have to flip it over half way through for a better result. It does cook bacon very nicely!
I still think it is a decent buy and a good product.

Update September 2013: We have been using this Oven for about 2-1/2 yrs now. We still like it and use it several times a week. The dome is still in good shape with no cracks. My daughter likes heating up her chicken nuggets and french fries in it. It does that quickly without heating up the house. I cook items like hotdogs in it occasionally. We put foil down underneath the food to keep the pan cleaner. But if you are cooking something light then the fan will sometimes spin your food around while cooking. Not a problem and can be fun to watch! LOL!

Frankly, all the 5 star ratings for this oven are very perplexing. Many of them appear to be one-review shills, and my honest suggestion to anyone reading the reviews on the Nuwave is to take a quick look at the "See All My Reviews" button. If the reviewer has only one or a couple of reviews total, and they are all written about the same time, treat that review with great skepticism.

Still, there are a number of high star reviews that seem to be from legitimate reviewers here, and this greatly mystifies me because they reflect experiences that are the opposite of my own. By way of supporting my personal experience, I would suggest anyone looking at this oven do a web search for Nuwave complaints. What you will find is a vast number of people not associated with Amazon's review system who report experiences like my own.

I purchased the Nuwave Pro with the extension kit. The claims, as stated on this Amazon page were extremely enticing, namely, "Cook a 10lb. frozen solid turkey in 2 1/2 hours", and "Cooks up to 50% faster than a conventional oven", and "Applies heat directly to the food enhancing browning roasting and flavor." All of these sounded great to me. And these were just the tip of the iceberg. The manufacturer makes even more incredible claims, but since this is an Amazon review I'll stick to just those things stated on Amazon's sales page.

So, I proudly gave this to my wife for Christmas. We were eager to put it through its paces. To say the oven was an abysmal failure is like saying the Titanic fell prey to a minor incident. This oven is a performance disaster!

We started off with what we thought would be a simple test; a couple of skinless, boneless chicken breasts. These were not frozen, but were fresh.

Purchasing this item taught me that buying items sold and shipped by Amazon--as opposed to BigKitchen--is definitely the way to go. I'll begin my story with the ending: I attempted to return the item two weeks after purchasing because my cooking times were EXTREMELY longer than those projected for various foods and portion sizes included in the "Quick & Easy Cooking Guide". Because the item was not sold or shipped by Amazon (I didn't know the advantages of buying direct from Amazon), the website redirected my attempted return to the seller, BigKitchen.

BigKitchen asked what items I cooked in the NuWave. I rattled off a few and was informed that because I cooked poultry in the oven, the item could not be returned. UNBELIEVABLE! The only way to know that my NuWave would not cook chicken--or even their advertised "best grilled cheese sandwich ever"--in NuWave's suggested timeframes was to try cooking the chicken, grilled cheese, burgers and other items in the oven. I was too new to Amazon to know that I had a recourse in them after my futile conversation with BigKitchen. Looking back, I'm confident that contacting Amazon after speaking to BigKitchen would have made for a better outcome; however, the response I got from BigKitchen was as frustrating as the extensive cooking time required for this NuWave BigKitchen sent me.

In short, beware of the vendors from whom you buy. You never know what type of customer service you'll get outside of items sold and shipped by Amazon. Unable to return a non-working item after using it to find it doesn't work is just butt-backwards.
