4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad, decent compilation of old school EDM, May 8, 2009

I actually had this CD about 10 years ago when it came out and lost it so I decided to buy it again many years later. For some reason it use to sound so much cooler back then, which really shows how much electronic music has evolved. Even though it's called "Nu Skool" (and I'm sure it was for it's time) it's definitely old school now. It's a pretty decent compilation of old school electronic dance music though. Some of the tracks aren't that great, especially towards the end. But overall I'm happy with my purchase. Good to hear some of the old stuff I use to vibe to back in the day.

I have loved this CD since the first time I heard it. If you are looking for an all around great drum and bass cd, this is it. All the tracks are great, I always listen all the way through. Also pick up the other CDs in the Nu York Nu Skool series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool, but not so cool, January 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Nu York Nu Skool, Vol. 2: East Coast Drum'n'Bass (Audio CD)
I thought that this album was pretty excellent. The reason why I named this "Cool, but not so cool," is because I feel that the first album is much better. I'm glad that they put a remix of "Music for the lonely" on the second album, 'cause that's my favorite, but I still feel that the original version is much better. Also, I liked the artists on the first album better, especially Sub Zero, because I once met him at a club. He was actually spinning that night. He was pretty cool. He taught me how to enjoy drum 'n bass. So that's the reason this album is cool, but not as cool as the first one.
