The great reviews for this product are for the old formula and as a long-time stevia user, I can attest to the fact that this was once the best-tasting stevia product on the market. I received a recent order, however, and found it to be inedible. I called the manufacturer, assuming I just got a bad batch, and learned that NuNaturals has recently started to use a different source of stevia in all their products. The person I spoke to acknowledged that the new ingredient dramatically changed the taste and that anyone who was a "super user" would have a difficult time transitioning to the new product. Super user or not, I just know that the taste was harsh and metallic and more to the point, there was not even a hint of sweetness in my drink, and adding more stevia only increased the metallic taste but never increased the sweetness at all.

I used to love this product. Not any longer. The formula has changed and it is horrible. Will switch to another product.

The manufacturer can no longer obtain the form of Stevia it was using to produce this product. The new formula tastes awful compared to the smooth sweet taste it had before. There is a new metallic taste that is just not nearly as good. If I find another product to replace this in my coffee, I will not use this anymore. I don't like it, but its better than nothing.

I used to love NuNaturals with Singing Dog Vanilla but the last 2 auto ships I received were horrible. Very bitter and a lasting taste in the mouth that drove me bonkers. I have no idea what changed but I suspect, since they are doing so well, they are buying cheaper stevia. WHAT A BUMMER. No more for me thankyouverymuch.

Some people may still be getting some of the 'old' version of this once great product but you will be SORRY if you get the new one. It is thick, bitter, and disgusting. I've tried using much less than I used to use but I still taste the bitterness and not enough sweetness. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Since the beginning of this year, I've given up added sugar (including honey, agave, maple syrup, etc.). But I just can't seem to give up baking! So over the past 7 months, I've tried lots of alternative ways to sweeten. Splenda: just has a strange aftertaste I can't get over (and I don't like artificial sweeteners in principle - who knows what they're really made of and what they do to you long term). Fruit: this is definitely better than straight-up sugar, since at least it comes with micronutrients and some fiber, but when it comes down to it, it's also full of sugar. That pretty much leaves stevia. I loved the IDEA of stevia, but when I bought some powdered stevia I found that I didn't love it so much in reality.

Lucky for me, one of the paleo food blogs I've been reading turned me on to this vanilla-infused liquid version. I decided to just go for it and bake a batch of carob brownies using only this as a sweetener. I was shocked to discover that they were delicious. Not only were they plenty sweet enough (I used about 30-35 drops), there was no weird aftertaste. Now the problem is going to be convincing myself that just because my brownies are sugar free doesn't mean I can eat the whole pan by myself...

i called the manufacturer and asked about the changes made in the product and how many claim the flavor as been negatively affected. since taste is completely subjective to each of us i decided to go ahead and try it & i am SO GLAD I DID! i love it, it's perfect in coffee, baking, anything i have used it in has been wonderful. i hope your experience is the same!

I can't attest to this brand being any better or worse than other brands out there since this is the only liquid stevia brand I've ever tried, but I'll definitely be back for more. My husband uses it in his coffee, and I use it to 'flavor' water. I use about 5 drops per mug, smooth vanilla favor, no bitter aftertaste whatsoever. Who would have thought water could taste good?! My only gripe is that the Amazon write-up beneath clearly states 'alcohol-free', yet the ingredients listed on the actual bottle are: water, vanilla bean extractives, 35% pure grain alcohol and natural flavors. Not a real biggie (since I am happy with the taste), but Amazon or the seller (or whoever) should update this page to reflect that this product does indeed contain alcohol.
