I decided to wait a year before I wrote this review. I love the Nu Wave and I can not see my self not having it in my kitchen. Also, a year later, it still works the same as the day I brought it. LOVE This product!

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this product after reading mixed reviews about its reliability, however I am so glad I took the risk! It is fantastic, the Cornish hens come out crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside...from a frozen state! So far this is the best product I've ever bought. Also, I got a better price from Amazon than if I had bought it directly from the manufacturer. My kids love how it cooks and I plan to get a smaller one for my college-bound daughter.

A year ago I would have given this product 4-5 stars. A very healthy way to cook. Very convenient. I told many folks how much I enjoyed this oven. Small footprint on the counter. I hardly ever use my kitchen oven. But then it cracked while it was cooking something. I called and got a replacement dome thinking it must be a defect. The folks were nice. I just paid shipping. Then a few months later, again it cracked during a normal cooking operation. I called again and was told it was out of warranty and I would have to pay for the new dome, about $40 with shipping. I asked them to reconsider since I was using it for what it was intended, cooking and it cracked 2x... They sent me some additional directions on how to care for the product instead of a replacement dome. I am done. Since there are now other similar cooking technology products on the market made of glass around the same price, I will be buying a different brand made of glass instead of throwing almost half the price of a new nuwave oven for a replacement part of the nuwave. Summary-good cooking technology, poor plastics part, invest in a glass one instead.

I have owned my new wave for quite a few years. It works okay but it will not cook a lot of the meats in the time they claim it does . You can actually make better meats on the grill and faster. You can use it to defrost frozen meats and then finish them on the grill .

Now for my biggest gripe , count on replacing the dome A LOT because I have replaced mine twice and this last time I only used it for 3 months until it cracked again. I will not spent another thirty dollars on this oven.

How hightec can it be it is just an expensive chinese piece of junk. I am going to buy a big boss rapid wave oven for 49.00 at least it has a glass dome.

I saw this oven on a TV infomercial. Lo and behold, it's one of the few products "as seen on TV" that really works. I had an older model for three years then bought the newer updated model with the egg timer controls. It does what they advertise. Throw on frozen burgers and it cooks them nicely. Great for frozen chicken fingers etc and great for cooking kids meals. Forget gourmet cooking on it, but it is convenient, inexpensive $99.00 and it WORKS.

Come April 2013, we will have had our NuWave Digital Oven for 5 years. Same oven, but third dome. First dome lasted over 1 & 1/2 years. 3rd dome unfortunately is on its way out after about 9 months. Wish the domes would last longer, but heck, think about how much heat is trapped underneath one. Plus, we use our NuWave about 4 times per week. I'm possibly the reason they crack sooner than I expected because I cook sweet potatoes all the time. I fill the big enameled pan with sweet potatoes, cook about 40 mins, then let cool for about an hour & 1/2 leaving oven closed/sealed. Flip them over and cook another 30 mins, then let cool for another hour & 1/2 leaving oven closed/sealed. THAT'S A LOT OF HEAT TRAPPED UNDER THE DOME for approximately 4 hours plus. I probably shouldn't leave the dome sealed up & closed for so long. So, I'm probably pushing the limits on subjecting the dome to excess heat. Anyhow, our NuWave is our one and only original that will be 5 years old come April 2013. There's a little tiny bit of rust & residue build-up, up inside the heating unit. We definitely got our, "bang for the buck" out of this thing. It yields the best results for sweet potatoes, fish, beef, poultry, and much more. It takes a little practice, but so do a lot of other things. IT HAS SAVED US SO MUCH TIME, which I suspect would = saved money. Clean up is easy, and we hardly use the full sized oven anymore. We're very happy, and should this one finally go belly up, we'll be buying another one. Out of curiosity, I looked at some other cheaper versions offered by other companies. What junk! Totally inferior, don't waste your money on the "take-offs," you'll be disappointed.

My dad bought me this oven for Christmas. When I was visiting my parents' house, he and I made several dishes that came out really, really well in the NuWave oven. One night we made breaded chicken cutlets for sandwiches, and another time we made yellow cake from a mix. The chicken retained its lovely juices and was absolutely succulent. The cake was more moist and delicious than any cake I've ever made in my regular convection oven.

Tonight, my husband and I decided to use our NuWave oven to make our usual Friday night pizza. I used refrigerated pizza dough, and followed the instructions in the booklet to a T. The instructions said that I should let the pizza cook crust-side up on HI until the crust was light brown. We noticed that the middle of the pizza was browning really quickly, so we turned the pizza over using the Pizza Flipper. Unfortunately, the outside edges of the crust were not totally cooked, so the Flipper got stuck and the pizza got totally messy. We let the pizza cook right-side up for awhile to see if we could get the outside edges of the crust set, but the toppings in the middle of the pizza began to get overly brown so we had to stop the oven and remove the pizza. We just had to finish it off by pan-frying the pizza to get the crust to cook properly. So, my recommendation would be to use only pre-baked pizza crust OR to just not use this oven to make pizza. I don't know whether I was doing something wrong, but I was highly disappointed with the uneven manner in which the oven cooked the crust and toppings. However, I will use my oven for other things.

the oven is great and in the past when my dome became damaged it was easy to get a replacement but this time when my dome cracked and I went on the website to get a replacement I always see the out of stock tab.

ITS BEEN WEEKS AND THEY ARE STILL OUT OF STOCK FORCING YOU TO BUY THE OTHER DOME THAT TWICE THE PRICE OF THE ORIGINAL.
this is some cute trick the nuwave people drummed up to force you to buy their more expensive dome.

Don't buy this if you have no use for a dog bowl. The dome will break the first time you use it as the plastic can not stand the heat of the cooking process. The best use I've found is using the bottom of the unit for a dog bowl.
