4.0 out of 5 stars Paperport Pro 11
I've been using paperport for years and can't live without this software. I like the changes that were made. However, it seems that this version is alot slower that my previous version. It may have something to do with installing the indexer, which I subsequently uninstalled. But, it's still slow.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paper Port 11 - still glitchy after all these years
PaperPort 11 is a very glitchy program and tricky to use. Despite several interface "upgrades" in new versions over the years, it still has a mindset of its own. The Nuance developers might try market-testing this on some computer-literate users who have not used the program before, as they seem to be in a rut with their design.

For example, scanning...

The best thing about the package is that you can setup the scan settings. This is much better than how the software previously worked.

I would still buy it again.

PaperPort 11 is a very glitchy program and tricky to use. Despite several interface "upgrades" in new versions over the years, it still has a mindset of its own. The Nuance developers might try market-testing this on some computer-literate users who have not used the program before, as they seem to be in a rut with their design.

For example, scanning documents time after time you still have to select a paper size from an endless list of world-wide paper sizes. Couldn't I just select a default size and change it when I need to? NO, that's too simple.

I just asked the program to scan an item and it is just sitting there with the nasty hourglass mocking me. OK, I won't take it personally but it's not working properly. It has given me 11 thunderous chimes to say something is wrong. Duh! So that's why it's called PaperPort 11. But no indication on what to do to make it work. I restarted the program and it remembers the scanners I don't have, not the one I do have. So I have to select it yet again. And it still won't scan.

Glitchy? You get my point. Sorry I can't give you more complete blow-by-blow descriptions right now. I'm too busy setting my computer on fire.

1.0 out of 5 stars Port to nowhere, January 25, 2009
This review is from: UPG PAPERPORT PRO 11.0 (CD-ROM)
I purchased this program with great hopes of getting some work done and it has been nothing but a very big waste of time and money.

The program is poorly put together and as a result is very very very unstable. It will turn itself off at any time it wishes, often when you are in the middle of a major project.

The people who own the company now have decided that they could save a lot of money by giving absolutely no support. It is just a waste of time to even try and call them.

In short save your money and go get Adobe Professional....it actually does work.

4.0 out of 5 stars No problems with this upgrade, February 16, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UPG PAPERPORT PRO 11.0 (CD-ROM)
After reading all the horror stories about this upgrade I tried to find a suitable substitute. I have been using PaperPort since 2003 or 2004 and really hated to not be able to keep my records that way, I could find none that would work with my 64 bit Vista.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered. I have had no problem with the program or the upgrade.
