5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
I purchased 2 of these sippy cups when my son was 7 months old to get him started on transitioning from nursing to eventually using a sippy cup. We skipped the bottle all together. He caught on very well to this cup and we haven't turned back since! He likes a few other of the Nuby cups (sports sippy cup) but this one seems to be his favorite.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for baby, not for me!
After many false starts and difficulties with transitioning my daughter off the bottle - at 18 months she still wasn't catching on - I tried this one, since it seemed to be similar to what she already had (a drop-in type bottle with the hole in the top cut WAY big!), and it turned out to be a big success. She took to it well and we were able to leave the bottles behind...

Besides the soft spout, I also like that this cup comes with a top, since we have dogs, I don't have to worry about my small dog getting to my baby's sippy cup. It's also great when we go out, I can put the top on and know if it falls on the floor (or gets thrown) that it won't get as dirty.

As far as the wear and tear, I have never had to replace the spouts, and my son has been using them for a little over four months. I take good care of the cups, using the tops, and cleaning according to the instructions (dish washer). I don't let my son use the cup as a chew toy, just for drinking and they still look brand new. If they do get worn, the replacements are very inexpensive so I'm not worried about that.

I have never had these leak, except when my son pinches the spout with his fingers, which he doesn't do very often. It truly doesn't leak at all, unless it is defective.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for baby, not for me!, June 20, 2009
This review is from: Nuby 2 Handle Cup With Soft Spout, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
After many false starts and difficulties with transitioning my daughter off the bottle - at 18 months she still wasn't catching on - I tried this one, since it seemed to be similar to what she already had (a drop-in type bottle with the hole in the top cut WAY big!), and it turned out to be a big success. She took to it well and we were able to leave the bottles behind within a couple of weeks. I also liked the idea of not having to take several miniscule pieces apart to clean it, since it doesn't have a valve. So that's the good points.

The bad points are first of all it leaks dreadfully. The spout just contains a couple of little flappy bits of plastic which are supposed to stop it spilling, but it doesn't work since the weight of the fluid in an upturned cup is way more than these tiny, fragile flaps can contain. Also, those tiny, fragile flaps break off after a few uses, making it even more leaky. My daughter didn't seem bothered by the increased flow this causes but it does mean that any time the cup spends on its side or upside down (which as you all know who have been there is about 85% of the time), it's hemorrhaging fluid. A waste of juice and a lot of clean up. It also leaks around the top where it screws on, it's not a watertight seal, and that led to a lot of stained clothes before I caught on and only gave her clear fluids like water and apple juice.

Fortunately having worked with this for a few weeks, my daughter had grasped the theory of a sippy cup so we went and bought a couple of Avent ones with no return valves, more work to wash them but at least my couch and carpet are dry most of the time now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Starter Cup!!!, August 14, 2008
By
I absolutely LOVE these cups. When we started my daughter on sippy cups we tried every cup we could find and she refused to drink from all of them. We finally found this cup and she would actually use it!!! We found that we preferred this 10oz, 2 handle model opposed to the 7oz one with the handles on the cup part (thse are on the lid). We had issues with the other type tring to get the lid on so that the spout wasn't over the handle - if you under tighten or over tighten it will leak. These ones with the handles on the the spout piece were great.

We didn't have any issues with her using them while she was teething. After a 6-9 months of normal use the middle piece of the spout did tear and we had to replace them. Mainly it ripped when it did because she started sticking her tongue in the spout- in the slits. It was at this time that we decided if she could do that then it was time to switch cups and by then she would/could drink out of a 'normal' sippy cup.

We just started our son with them and at 8 months, this is now all he uses. He had absolutely no problems transitioning from the bottle to the cup. (Which is really great for us since our Ped. likes to see them off of the bottle by the time they are a year.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great leak proof sippy with a cap!, January 31, 2012

This review is from: Nuby 2 Handle Cup With Soft Spout, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
I' surprised this product only has 3 reviews. I've tried 4 sippy cups, and this is PERFECTION. It's hard enough to look for sippy cups with a cap, which rids of 90% of sippy cups in the market. And many leak horribly despite the product description. There's a sippy cup I really like, I think it's NUK, that absolutely doesn't leak, but it doesn't have a cap.

This one doesn't leak at all, and has a cap. The only thing I don't like is the nipple is pretty hard to clean. But I use my little finger and get into all the nooks the best I can, and I soak the nipple once every few times. Also, the bottle itself is big enough to fit my hand, so I don't need a bottle brush.

1.0 out of 5 stars No-Spill = Yes-Spill/Leak, January 6, 2012
This review is from: Nuby 2 Handle Cup With Soft Spout, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
We got two of these cups as a gift. They are absolutly horrible. They leak everywhere. I took one to a playdate with us. My son left it on the floor while playing. When I went to pick it up a few minutes later there was a huge puddle of water on the carpet. I checked to see if I lined up the little nubbies and they were. The next time was when we went to the library for storytime. My son put the cup in front of him while listening, after the program was over he stood up and his pants were soaked. Again, I checked the nubbies and yet again they were lined up. While using these at home I always thought he was drinking it and letting it run from is mouth, in fact it was the cup that leaks not his mouth!

I stopped using them after the last spill.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, LEAKS, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Nuby 2 Handle Cup With Soft Spout, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
Love the colors and design. Easy for my baby to use but it leaks so badly that I threw them out. Save yourself the hassle of buying this bottle and just pour the liquid directly on the baby, carseat, or floor.

I was really excited to switch from a bottle to a soft spout cup and when I first got this one, baby had no trouble switching. It did not leak, it appeared to be the perfect cup, that is until it started leaking and the suction is acting funny! When my son starts sucking on this, the top gets in the cup completely, like a vacuum, I would have to unscrew it to let air in and it pops back out. Also, I am not sure how this happened but the top soft part moved from where it's supposed to stay and now the handles and the spout don't align properly. I actually have to hold the cup for him otherwise it's all off and he is having a hard time figuring it out. I will not using this cup anymore, it just really frustrates me. I got him ones with straws instead and they work much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helped us move off the bottle, August 12, 2011
This review is from: Nuby 2 Handle Cup With Soft Spout, 10 Ounce, Colors May Vary (Baby Product)
I actually borrowed a couple of these from a friend. My son, at 15 months, would drink water or juice out of the hard spout sippy cups but would not drink milk from them. Within a week of him watching me pour milk from the bottle into this cup, and then having him drink from it, he was completely off the bottle. I was happy not to have to wash all the pieces of the Dr. Brown bottles again! He's now 18 months and he still takes his morning milk from this one, and regular harder spout sippys the rest of the day. This bottle is also easy to clean, but as a previous reviewer mentioned, there are some tiny slots in the spout area that is hard to clean...I some times carefully use a toothpick to get water in there to clean it.

The down side is that it DOES leak a bit. I find most of the leakage comes when the bottle is dropped and the rubber spout makes contact with a hard surface. Since there's no valve, it can drip out. And when your kid figures out that he can bend it with his fingers, get ready to have milk flying at you.

Regardless, I found I really liked this sippy. I'm going to purchase one for our personal stash.
