Nuby 2 Pack Replacement Silicone Spouts

Our daughter chewed through a handful of her Nudy spouts and my wife and I were upset at the notion of having to throw the whole cup away to buy new ones. Nuby doesn't offer the replacement spouts in any stores around us, so we were very happy to find that we could buy them on Amazon and save a few bucks. The product arrived quickly and we are very pleased with their quality. I don't know if the replacement spouts are tougher or if my daughter has moved out of the 'chewing phase', but so far after a month she has yet to chew through any of the new ones.

The new spouts are NOT like the old spouts, I just bought new cups and they don't let enough air into the cup, so the nipple inverts into the cup when the child is sucking liquid from it. So every few seconds, the lid has to be removed to allow air back in, the nipple returns to normal position and then lid put back on. My son doesn't really like them anymore because it is too hard for him. I compared his old with his new and they changed them, WHY?!?!?!?! They were great before.

The image of this replacement spout is the old version spout. I was very excited when seeing the image but when i received the product, it's the new version with smaller and deeper vent. My son has difficutly sucking when vaccum occured. I had to cut open the vent for better ventilation.

I wish there was more photos/info about which models these fit. I searched the cups they were intended for and could find no model number on them (and of course I didn't keep the packaging - who does?), so assumed they were correct. Wrong! I'm out 2 bucks - they don't fit any I own.

I bought these for a slippy cup with handles and they were the wrong size. At the bottom it showed that people bought these along with the sippy cups I have, but they are too small. It was a nice price, but not worth returning, so now I'm out two bucks and still have sippy cups but no spouts.

I have twin 20-month-old boys. We use the Nuby cups that use these spouts because the boys were willing to take them as a transition from bottles. They use valveless sippy cups most of the time but still drink their milk from these cups just because they tend to drink a greater quantity from them.

For that reason I like them, but we had to order the replacement spouts because after just a few months of use, the valves tore causing them to leak (they would splash my boys in the face when they tipped their cups back). When we got the new spouts, the valve design had been changed (I imagine because of the very problem we had with them). The new valves did a horrible job of letting air into the cups. So much suction was required to open the valves that he spouts would collapse before they would let any air through, making it very hard for my boys to drink from them (which meant they started drinking much less of their milk).

I resolved the issue by expanding the slits in the valves with a razor, but if that hadn't worked, we would've had to stop using these altogether.

Also, the spouts have a lot of crevices which are hard to clean. I have to use a little brush that came with another brand of bottles to get them clean.

This spout is the old version. It is the soft silicone that will rip easily if you have a child that likes to chew or hold the spout with their teeth. The newer silicone spouts are a harder silicone that definitely holds up 10x's longer than this one. Just disappointed.

This sippy spout fits the adaptor for Klean Kanteen water bottles - allowing you to make them into a sippy cup w/ the least amount of plastic possible. The fit is very tight and so far no leaks. The spout is made of silicone (although the packaging does not state the grade of the silicone) and is soft. Liquid does pool a bit in the valve and can be a bit harder to clean (my reason for not giving it 5 stars).
I wish that Nuby, and other brands in general, would state the width of the opening of the base of the product so that it would be easier to know if spouts/nipples would fit on other products. Plus, I really wish the grade of the silicone was clearly stated on everything.
Food grade silicone is a synthetic rubber which contains bonded silicon (a natural element which is very abundant in sand and rock) and oxygen. With BPA and Pthalates a concern in plastics, this silicone spout is a good alternative.

These tops are not as soft/flexible as the original tops that came with the sippy cups when I bought them, and that is why they only get four stars from me. However, Nuby sippy cups were the ONLY sippy cups I could get my daughter to use when we were transitioning her from a bottle to a sippy cup. The soft top make the transition very easy. She's four years old and she's still using these.

I bought these spouts a few months ago.. i love this spout it doesn't tear easily unlike the older ones..however thwe one problem i noticed is you have to rinse them out immmediately after use..or won't clean well if you just wash them in dishwasher
