5.0 out of 5 stars Only cup that helped my son transition from the bottle
My son was having a hard time using the many sippy cups I purchased. I even bought the Nuby cups and he just chewed on them. He took right to this cup. The straw was easy for him to suck and keep in his mouth because of its shape and he could get as much water as he needed. This is the only cup that has worked for him and now he is learning to use regular straws...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not made for busy kids
My toddler just loved this sipper...for the one week we had it. It was never put in the dishwasher (only hand washed) nor was it used outside of the company directed guidelines. But, in the middle of the store this morning when my son dropped it from the cart to the floor, it cracked in half & juice leaked everywhere. Dropping things is just part of what kids do & Nuby...

My friend tried this cup and her son chewed up the straw but my son has not done this and we have had it for a month.

4.0 out of 5 stars great for younger babies, June 17, 2007
I had low supply and while I had to supplement with formula we never used a bottle. Instead I used an SNS, but by the time she was about 6 months old she was constantly pulling at the SNS tubing making it very difficult for me. So I decided to switch to sippys. I bought one of these thinking the long tube would be an easier transition for her. It did take a little bit but my 6 month old did figure out how to use this sippy! :D We gave her her supplement in that until she was about 11 months and she gave up formula on her own.

Pros:

~easy for breast fed babies to learn

~easy to clean (by hand or dishwasher)

~very inexpensive (on sa\e for $1, normally $2-$3 at walmart)

~silicone can be boiled in case of thrush (or just cheaply replace the whole thing)

~tops are interchangeable with the 'regular' sippy tops that nuby makes.

~is no spill as long as the silicone is untorn (see below)

Cons:

~the silicone top tears easily between the slits, causing it to quickly become too fast of a flow

~impossible to find replacement silicone tops. must just buy a whole new sippy (good thing they are cheap)

~if torn may leak when not using. but for a young baby this isn't really a problem since they cant use it by themselves anyway

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, February 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These cups are great! If you are having a hard time taking your child off of the bottle, these really help with the transition. They are spill/leak proof and my daughter prefers them over her bottle. The sport sipper is too much like a nipple (to me) so I switched the clear sports sipper spouts with the clear regular spouts. You can order replacement spouts from Amazon.com for a really great price. The regular spouts are just like any other sippy cup spout. The design of the cup is really great for little hands. I love these cups.

Dropping things is just part of what kids do & Nuby should know that. This no-spill cup is not meant for busy kids who may throw or drop it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good cup to transition from Bottle, March 26, 2010
By
Baronessa (Hollywood, CA) - See all my reviews
I have bought so many sippy cups to transition my daughter from bottle but she disliked all of them. She would just play with the spouts and not drink at all. With this cup transition was a success! I think because the spout is very nipple-like she easily sipped from it as if drinking from her usual bottle. It's the only cup that worked!

1.0 out of 5 stars ZERO STARS - your child can swallow silicone and short life span!, August 14, 2009
This review is from: Nuby No Spill Sport Sipper, Colors May Vary, 10 Ounce (Baby Product)
At first, I thought this product was great. The only way I can get my 2-year old son to drink milk is out of a bottle even though he can drink out of a regular sippy cup. This sports sipper was the solution as he loves the silicone feel of a nipple versus the hard plastic of a sippy cup. After TWO weeks of use, 3 of the 6 bottles I purchased have torn nipples. The nipples tear between the slits causing a little piece of silicone to come loose. WIth two of the bottles, I was able notice the tear before the loose silicone completely tore off. With the third bottle, I saw big hole in the nipple so I think my son may have swallowed it. I called Nuby to report this issue and I was told that the life of the nipple is 3-5 weeks. Mine lasted only two weeks. And even if they last 3-5 weeks, that is a very short time! Terrible product and terrible value.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the others..., May 27, 2007
I am a fan of the Nuby sippy's, even though they have their problems. When transistioning a child from a bottle, Nuby sippy's are the way to go. I prefer these ones to the others because of the straw style (without the stinky nasty straw). In some of the others my daughter would tear the top apart with her teeth and milk would leak every where. We have been using these ones for about 3 months and not a single tear. My daughter is also quite rough but we have never had a problem with her dropping one and the cup breaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars couldn't live without 'um, April 24, 2007
we've gone through many different kinds of sippys, and these are the best and they're cheap too! my daughter loves the sport sippers.. she can have her juice and i don't have to worry about it leaking all over. we put them in the dishwasher and have had no problems. they do stain if you have a bright colored juice, but i think they're the best thing out there. kid tested.. mother approved!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not completely satisfied, August 13, 2007
These sippy cups are praised for their inability to leak, however, they do leak. We've been using these sippy cups for about 2 months and have had several problems. First of all, the "built-in soft, silicone valve" that is supposed to prevent leaks, drips, usually while our daughter is drinking, causing the milk to go into her nose. But we've actually had more problems with milk leaking out from under the rim when the sippy is turned on it's side. The two notches on the silicone spout are lined up, but the problem still exists. We just can't figure out what the problem could be, after such a short time of having them. I will not buy anymore of these, because they are too unpredictable and they do not do what they are supposed to do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nuby Sport Sipper is a Great Transition Sippy Cup, January 5, 2012
This review is from: Nuby No Spill Sport Sipper, Colors May Vary, 10 Ounce (Baby Product)
We really liked this sippy cup for our grandkids. This was the next logical step after using a baby bottle. The straw sits on top of the cup (doesn't go all the way down into the cup) and it only leaks if your child breaks the little valve at the end of the straw. In order to do that though, they have to chew on it for awhile. The cups are inexpensive and the great thing is that they now make the replacement spouts so you don't have to throw the whole sippy cup away. You can find the replacement spouts here on Amazon. 2 Nuby Sport Sipper Replacement Spouts The spouts are less expensive then buying a new bottle.
