From the Manufacturer
Poplar takes paint and stain exceptionally well and is often stained to look like other darker woods. It has a medium to fine and even texture and is generally straight grained. Poplar sapwood is a pale grayish white and can be streaked with greenish brown heartwood. Poplar is a popular choice for home projects as it is inexpensive, fairly soft and easy to work with and takes nails, screws and glue well. Poplar is commonly used in a wide range of woodworking projects such as: cabinets, furniture, jigs, drawer sides, toys and boxes. From our own mill, Nucasa has been crafting solid wood moldings since 1983. We understand the difference that finishing touches make in transforming your home and we can help inspire and get your project finished right.
