Book Description

0195311191 978-0195311198 September 25, 2008 4
Nuclear cardiac imaging refers to cardiac radiological diagnostic techniques performed with the aid of radiopharmaceuticals, which are perfused into the myocardium as markers. These imaging studies provide a wide range of information about the heart, including the contractility of the heart, the amount of blood supply to the heart and whether parts of the heart muscle are alive or dead. This is essential information for cardiologists, and nuclear imaging has become an increasingly important part of the cardiologist's armamentarium.

Iskandrian's text has become a leading book in the field and the fourth edition will continue the tradition. The text is completely updated to reflect the many advances in the field, and, as a new feature, each chapter concludes with a Q&A session on important and difficult clinical issues.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Nuclear medicine books that cover the technical and clinical aspects of nuclear cardiology are not abundant. the format and the quality of the information presented by this book's panel of talented authors render a difficult subject easier to understand...a great addition to any nuclear medicine physician's library and a precious asset to all in nuclear medicine, cardiology and radiology who are called to care for patients with cardiovascular disease. Dr Ernest Gardia, Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent text book for clinicians, July 28, 2008
If you are looking for an easy to read and concise nuclear cardiology text book, then this is a book for you.
I wouldn't waste my time reading the physics part ( get the Chandra book)but otherwise this is a superb book for the clinician.

If you are a cardiology fellow setting for the nuclear cardiology boards you might want to consider using this book as your main text.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought it would be, November 17, 2011
This review is from: Nuclear Cardiac Imaging: Principles and Applications (Hardcover)
The physics portion wasn't very good, I thought the Powsner physics book was a lot easier to understand. It isn't very readable, and goes on and on like a poorly written review article with paragraph after paragraph of summaries of clinical trials but lacking in synthesis and putting everything together. Definitely not in the same league as Harrisons or Braunwald.

1.0 out of 5 stars book purchase, November 19, 2008
This review is from: Nuclear Cardiac Imaging: Principles and Applications (Hardcover)
The purchase experience was just horrible.
Paid for next day delivery, but was informed -after purchase payment was made- that the deliver was scheduled for the next 4 days.
When tried to cancel the order, I was told by the agent from India that this was NOT possible.
The book I received was not in it's original package.
I will NOT recommend this site to any one.
