Book Description

0803648634 978-0803648630 January 1987
The first edition of this book was written by single author. The second edition(1996) was written by two authors. The third edition is written by several authors. The third edition is designed to be the reference textbook in the field. It incorporates all relevant technical and clinical data. Each chapter is written by a leading authority in that particular subject. The chapters were carefully reviewed and edited for consistency and accuracy. There is major emphasis on incorporating tables and figures to allow using the book as a teaching resource. It is written with not only the specialist in mind but also the general reader as each chapter stands on its own. To our knowledge, there is no other textbook in the field that comes close to this one in terms of content, scholarship and style.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Praise for Previous editions of Nuclear Cardiac Imaging.

"The authors have succeeded in creating a textbook that will satisfy the needs of both fellows in training and practicing clinicians in either general nuclear medicine or nuclear cardiology."--Clinical Nuclear Medicine

"Overall this is a very technically detailed but at the same time clinically applicable and relevant textbook on nuclear cardiac imaging. The close interaction between the co-authors makes the book highly readable...I recommend it highly!"--Circulation

"The approach is exceptionally discerning and detailed, and it fully integrates the use of other diagnostic methods for differential diagnosis, the planning of treatment, and the management of patient care."--New England Journal of Medicine

"Dr. Iskandrian has used his extensive experience of radionuclide investigation of ischaemic heart disesase to produce a book that will be of value to all physicians referring patients for 'nuclear cardiac imaging."--The Lancet

"The book covers all aspects of the field [of nuclear cardiac imaging] and is extensively and adequately annotated. To its credit, each topic that comes under the rubric of nuclear cardiology is covered in a readable, consistent style, is current, and is illustrated with well-presented diagrams and images."--Practical Cardiology

"No nuclear medicine physician should be without this book-and each should offer it to his or her referring cardiologist. Students should keep it as a reference book, or convince their school library to purchase a copy."--American Journal of Roentgenology --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent text book for clinicians, July 28, 2008
If you are looking for an easy to read and concise nuclear cardiology text book, then this is a book for you.
I wouldn't waste my time reading the physics part ( get the Chandra book)but otherwise this is a superb book for the clinician.

If you are a cardiology fellow setting for the nuclear cardiology boards you might want to consider using this book as your main text.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought it would be, November 17, 2011
The physics portion wasn't very good, I thought the Powsner physics book was a lot easier to understand. It isn't very readable, and goes on and on like a poorly written review article with paragraph after paragraph of summaries of clinical trials but lacking in synthesis and putting everything together. Definitely not in the same league as Harrisons or Braunwald.

1.0 out of 5 stars book purchase, November 19, 2008
The purchase experience was just horrible.
Paid for next day delivery, but was informed -after purchase payment was made- that the deliver was scheduled for the next 4 days.
When tried to cancel the order, I was told by the agent from India that this was NOT possible.
The book I received was not in it's original package.
I will NOT recommend this site to any one.
