Perfect Research Tool,
By David Diez (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nuclear Power: A Reference Handbook (Library Binding)
This book is a perfect starting point for research. I'll give a brief description of the chapters.1: covers general nuclear discussion topics 2: a chronology of the origin of nuclear power, major events, along with some of the major government policies 3: biographies of major nuclear power people 4: technical topics in nuclear mining, energy, and waste, including a discussion on Yucca Mountain 5: directory of organizations and short descriptions of organizations 6: print resources along with short descriptions of them 7: non-print resources w/descriptions; includes websites Glossary: pretty complete Basically, start research here unless the research needs to be on more up-to-date (that is, if you are dealing with present day issues, although this would still be a good resource for research on Yucca Mountain). If this book doesn't have what you need, it can help you find a source that you would need or give more information about what you are researching. Overall great book. I haven't read it all, but I read the first few chapters; I don't plan on reading the following chapters since they are descriptions of other resources and I was just doing some personal research on nuclear energy. (What I haven't read basically is something you only read if you want to find more resources on nuclear topics.) |
