House music, the rhythm of body and spirit. Vinyl hawks and underground song hunters know that upstart Naked Music Recordings in California has been slowly, quietly releasing some of America's best deep and soulful tunes. Here is the second of three compilations from their label (and licensed from others) mixed by Miguel `Migs,' and oh my, what a selection. A trove of choice cuts and swanky remixes sure to get listeners movin', grindin', and positively horizontal.

If this sterling collection of sexy house isn't the sound of a late summer night you need to get out some more. Fourteen tracks, alternatingly sultry and smashing, with a variety of vocalists- many produced by Migs and his alias collaborators. Texture and tight production are the mandates here; no matter your tastes (and preference in singers) the vibe will carry you through. Naming just a few highlights: the understated croon of Petalpusher (Migs) "Surrender," the dreamy Lovetronic "You Are Love," the smart, absolutely marvelous "Music & Wine." Let's give credit to the Naked gang for the class packaging as well, a reminder in this CD-consumer age that albums are art, not product.

As always, the music you should be buying can't be found in stores, that shelf space is reserved for typical radio twaddle. The decision is yours: buy a steamin' set of grooves from a compilation of the year contender, or stick to the spoon-fed big label gruel slopped out daily. Grade: A

What can I say, this CD has now become a Classic in the world of Naked Music releases. Talk about Funkdafied, this CD covers everything you ever thought Funky was and should be when it comes to House. This CD is mixed by one of my favorite dj's and that is the wonderful Miguel Migs. The standout tracks on this disc are "Breakin' It Down" and "Music & Wine" the rest of the CD is also great. Naked Music has made a big niche in the world of Dance Music, and this disc was they're step in the right direction. Nude Dimensions Vol 1, has set the standard with it's trademark being deep soulful vocals and funky bass filled beats.
You can't go wrong with this gem as it will be a permanent fixture in my dance music collection.

Miguel "Migs"does a great job at selecting tracks that all have that certain slow, deep groove with bass, smokey vocals, horns, hooks, piano, etc. that get inside of your soul and keep you captive. I first heard the CD at a card store on 8th Ave., NYC, and found myself in the store for 30 minutes just enjoying the deep grooves on this cd. Fortunately, they sold the cd there. The next day I went back to buy another as a gift and they were sold out.

Miguel Migs has put together a very good dance mix CD. It has the generally high quality that we have all come to expect from him and, of course, Naked Music. I have to stop just short of giving this a perfect 5-star rating because it's not as consistently excellent as Miguel's superior effort, Nude Tempo I. Although I listen to this CD often (almost every day), I often find myself skipping past certain tracks, especially track 5. Nonetheless, if you like dance music with a sophisticated feel to it, you can't go wrong with this CD.

Let me say that Blue 6's "Music & Wine" Attaboy Vocal Remix is, in my opinion, the best track in this mix. To be sure, I am a big fan of this entire album -- DJ Migs (aka Petalpusher) of SF has put together a set of beautiful house tunes that are simulaneously relaxating, inspiring and totally groovy. A perfect album for a summer afternoon in Piedmont Park (the Central Park of Atlanta). Would never be heard on the bangin' dancefloor of Backstreets (The Studio 54 of Atlanta), but would provide the perfect uptempo sexy atmosphere for a dancecafe. Do you see what I'm saying? Buy this album, its really one of the better house mixes to come out in a while.

... This cd is brilliant, still the best from the Nude Dimensions serie. This deep house is deeper, its funky, it's hot, its relaxing, and it's sooo sexy!

Our master Petalpusher aka Miguel Migs has done a great job here. Nude Dimensions vol 1 is the 1st Naked Music release I heard in okt. 2001, and it's still the best. The trumpets on the opening track 'Breakin it Down' make you melt with desire..., the 2nd track 'Take Me To Paradise' already makes you wanna go to the nearest beach. The deep bass bounces in your stomach. Fresh sparkles on the cd like 'No Communication, No Love' (Salt Lake City rmx) will wake you up,incase you got too relaxed form this ultimate summer breeze. Go deep with Miguel Migs, go phunky, go naked....

Also go for Nude Dimensions Vol 2 & 3, I think 3 is better then 2, but still...GOD, thank you for this music! :D

Rarely do I ever revere a mixed-dance CD as beautiful, but Miguel "Migs'" Nude Dimensions is an absolute exception!

This wonderful San Francisco DJ has not only managed in capturing the warm coolness and smooth rhythmic feel that defines "San Francisco House," but he has brought together 14 exquisite tracks that flow evenly without disrupting the overall dance journey. Each track is rich in lush house beats and sultry vocals perfect for chilling on a hammock, while driving, or entertaining a house party. The most outstanding track here is number 9's "Music & Wine," very much makes the CD synonymous with spending a fun and memorable summertime with close friends (this CD could not have been released at a better time!). And as you play the CD throughout the year, it'll help in reminiscing about those fond moments.

The music is very much upbeat, mellow-oriented loungy house that is well-paced throughout. Overall, an excellent work of art by DJ Miguel "Migs." I can not wait to hear his follow-up! Thank goodness I live in San Francisco so I can go hear him spin live next time. However, if you live elsewhere, buy this CD and enjoy!

I'm going to keep this simple and to the point. I live in NYC and over here in the Big Apple there's a radio show called Liquid Sound Lounge (99.5 fm on Saturdays from 6-9pm). They play rare grooves, house and other aural gems. They mix it up a bit and they constantly serve up great stuff that you won't hear being played on your regular radio station. One day, the DJ decides to take a break from spinning records and spends the three hour set playing her current (well, current at the time)personal playlist. She played this album straight through. It took me a while to find it and when I did, I was extremely happy. You see, this is one of those cd's that has not one bad song on it. Not one. Everyone I have ever recommended this disc to has come back and thanked me almost as if I helped them find God. I'm not even going to list what songs I like because the entire album is simply put, a masterpiece. If you can find a better compilation than this that holds up after years of play, let me know. If you know what it's like to sit back and enjoy some serious grooves, you absolutely need this cd. Quite possibly the best mix cd of all time.

what a great buy...great music...great grooves...great sounds...everybody who heard this cd wanted a copy!
i'm not even going to get into specific tracks...just put the first track on and enjoy the ride.
great for lounging, hip-moving, dancing, ... easy listening (even at work)...
a "gotta have" cd if there ever was one!

Oh my goodness, this cd rocks

my fav tracks are
1) Li Sha - thats why Im here (Migs Transporters vocal)
2) Lovetronic- you are love (si brads playback dub) and the (jayus afrotronic ext. vocal) mix
3) weekender- spirit in your soul .... (absolute fav track on the cd)

I found the energy in this compilation fluid, never letting up, soothing, and relaxing. The mixing is excellent, inticingly driving you to the next track.

Overall 5 out of 5 .....

a must for deep house lovers!!!!
