Really, really delicious and oh, so easy, the perfect combinaiton. Great as a starter or as a full meal. Just placed my 2nd order.

The complete line of Nueva Cocina products has been a great discovery for me and my family. Finally, we are able to treat ourselves to sophisticated, Latin culinary delicacies that are flavorful, healthy and fast to prepare. We have tried them all and we each have our favorites. My oldest son loves the Gallo Pinto (red beans and rice mix), my youngest the Picadillo (beef seasoning mix), my wife the Paella (seafood and rice mix) and my personal favorite is the Black Bean soup, which reminds me a lot of my mother's own recipe (mother's milk to me). Keep in mind that these products are not your average can food or TV-dinner special. They all require a little of your own input and therefore give you the chance to add your own 2 cents to each meal. The success of these products stands on 3 key qualities: flavor, healthy ingredients and ease of preparation.

In about 15 minutes, dinner is ready! we have a healthy, tasty meal on the table for the entire family. We hope they continue growing their line and sticking to their high-quality and yummy-flavor principles.

The texture and taste are pretty good. But, if you are used to homemade bean soups, this is not nearly as good as something you could make from scratch. Plus, it is too salty as a previous reviewer complained! One small serving that has 140 calories has 700 mg of sodium.

It tastes very good, but it's much too salty for my taste. I like salt--just not this much of it. I'd try a low-salt version, but it's going to take me a long time to use up my remaining 5 packages of this. I might try a bean dip if I can find a recipe.

delicious bean mix! I followed a recipe from the Southern living magazine (sept. 08) and made a bean dip. The flavor was great, but could've used some more spice!

We love this product -- it used to be available at our local grocery store but no more. It is delicious, easy to prepare, and nutritious -- I just make brown rice and a vegetable to serve with it. It is my six-year-old son's favorite dinner.

Nueva Cocina Black Bean Soup tastes Souper! It also makes a nice base for other stuff you want to put into it. When I made it I added a carrot, some leftover steak strips, and some other stuff--I don't remember, but it doesn't matter, because this is the kind of thing you can improvise with whatever you have on hand. We liked it that way, and the delicious flavor shines through, too. I served it on a bed of nice basamati brown nice--complete and yummy dinner!

This is simply the best cuban style black bean soup in the market! i've made this soup from scratch many times and I have finally found the perfect alternative. The trick is to follow the instructions on the package and, in my opinion, don't get too creative with your own add-ons so that you keep the flavor as authentic as possible. It is really a scrumptios dish!

Highly recommend, especially if you like beans. This soup is delicious and can be made quickly. You can enjoy it as is, or you can add fresh or frozen vegetables. I made it both ways. I added 1/2 cup fresh sliced carrots and 1/4 cup celery at start. Alone it makes a thick soup. All my family really liked this soup. Plan to try all Nueva Cocina soups!

We were served this soup by friends when we visited them in Key West. They sometimes add sausage (we add another can of black beans and a little more water). The soup is very good - has a little kick- but if you want it hotter, there is another variety that is also good- the chipolte chili flavor black bean soup.

We have a hard time finding it in PA, and it is much more expensive. We have bought it directly from Nueva Cocina. Our daughter and son-in-law, or son and his fiance, and my brother and sister-in-law all love it and now buy it.
