After bursting upon the music scene with their last production, "A PUNTO DE ESTALLAR", Héctor, Félo, and Ricky, better known as N'KLABE, are ready to school us with their new production tilted: "LA NUEVA ESCUELA"

Some of the tracks from their previous albums reached the number one spot on most of the music charts across the United States and in Puerto Rico: `I Love Salsa,' written by salsa megastar Víctor Manuelle; `Evitaré,' a duo between N'Klabe and Víctor; `Amor de una noche,' as well as the sequel 'Ella Volvio' both songs featuring reggaetón star Julio Voltio. N'Klabe's original concept of enhancing the traditional salsa genre by infusing it with their fabulous energy and vocal harmony, causes the public's enthusiastic response. This new album continues with this successful formula.

The members of the group are:

Héctor José Torres Donato - As a small child, sports were his passion; then music took over. Thanks to his participation in talent competitions and as a member of a choral group at the Colegio San José in the city of Caguas, Puerto Rico, he realized he was born to sing and dance. Héctor, born on June 14, 1980, decided to pursue music seriously after he met Félix at the University of Cayey. Together they were part of several tropical music groups, and even shared the stage with Puerto Rican singer Jerry Rivera at a major music event called the Salsa National Congress. Héctor's professional growth as an artist has given him a greater sense of maturity and confidence in his chosen field. Always personable, he keeps his partners in stitches with his sense of humor and jokes.

Félix Javier Torres - Born on November 5, 1979, he too had an interest in music while still very young. At the age of eight, he was already playing the "cuatro," a guitar-like instrument native to Puerto Rico. While attending Notre Dame High School in Caguas, his musical creativity came to the fore, and he won various contests, proving to himself that his future was in music. For two years Félix sang with different groups at parties and other events; at the same time he continued his college studies. He is considered to be the "serious" member of the group. After he met Héctor, they decided to put a group together.

Ricardo Porrata - He was born on October 18, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. His introduction to music took place in his community church when he was just about four years old. At 15, he and some friends formed a group called Ricky Luis. When he was 21, he moved to New York City. He auditioned for the Manhattan School of Music to study opera, but he met N'Klabe manager Jose Díaz, and his life changed dramatically. The rest, as they say, is history...

During their short artistic career, N'Klabe has been nominated in seven categories in several important Latin music award shows such as Premios Lo Nuestro, Premios Billboard Latino, and Latin Grammys. They were, for instance, nominated as Best New Artist, with their song `Amor de una noche,' receiving a nomination for Best Song of the Year followed by their nomination for Best Tropical Duo/ Group of the Year with smashing live perfomance in the 2006 Premios Lo Nuestro. They have become so popular with audiences everywhere that they toured non-stop for three years, visiting Puerto Rico and numerous cities in the United States, such as New York, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Millwaukee, Los Angeles and Washington. They have also found success abroad, in cities like Toronto, Canada; Cali, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico, lima, Peru: Brussels, Belgium; and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, just to name a few.

In spite of their very busy schedule, N'KLABE found time to devote themselves entirely to their fourth album, "LA NUEVA ESCUELA". The title reflects on how the group feels they are taking the genre of salsa into a different dimension, one that will create a fusion of the "old" and "new". With the genre's acceptance; NKLABE feels that they are mature enough and grounded enough with the youth of today that they can be the pioneers to complete such a task. "LA NUEVA ESCUELA" debuts with the single "Si Ya No Estas" written by Mikey Perfecto which features reggaetons newest sensation Rakim y Ken Y; recorded with a bilingual flavor compared to no other salsa song ever. Nine more songs follow: "La Nueva Escuela" and "Me Criaron Con Salsa" written by Jorge Luis Piloto y Yoel Henriquez; "No Renunciare" written by Raul del Sol y Yoel Henriquez; "Amor de Agua" written by Obie Bermudez. And composed with the most profound feeling and sentiment are Ricardo (Ricky) Porrata and Héctor Torres' songs `La Ultima Vez,' and `El dia de tu Suerte'. Included are three cover songs: 'Tu No Le Amas, Le Temes' originally sung by Luis Henriquez interpreted by Hector Torres; 'Que hay de malo' originally sung by Jerry Rivera interpreted by Felix Torres and 'Tu No Sabes Querer' originally sung by Lalo Rodrigues interpreted by Ricardo Porrata. This album with its fresh take on blends of classic salsa, 'son montuno' and romanticism will re-affirm that this with a doubt is 'The New School' of salsa.

Produced and arranged by Mike Rivera 'the proffessor', "LA NUEVA ESCUELA" was recorded at the United Sounds Productions studios in Miami, Florida.

A pesar de su ocupada agenda, el grupo encontró tiempo para dedicarse por completo a su cuarto álbum La Nueva Escuela. El título es referencia a cómo el grupo siente que está llevando el género de la salsa a una dimensión diferente, donde fusiona lo viejo con lo nuevo. N'Klabe siente que cuenta con la madurez necesaria y que logra identificarse con la juventud de hoy para cumplir tal encomienda. La Nueva Escuela debuta con el sencillo "Si ya no estás" , de la autoría de Mikey Perfecto, que cuenta con la participación de las estrellas del reggaetón Rakim y Ken Y. El tema es como ninguno otro de la salsa por integrar frases bilingües y sonidos urbanos. Otras canciones inéditas incluidas en el álbum son: "La nueva escuela" y "Me criaron con salsa", escritas por Jorge Luis Piloto y Yoel Henríquez; "No renunciaré", de Raúl del Sol y Yoel Henríquez y "Amor de agua", de la inspiración de Obie Bermúdez. Ricardo Porrata y Héctor Torres contribuyeron con los románticos y profundos temas "La última vez" y "El día de tu suerte". Completan la producción tres versiones a lo N'Klabe de clásicos modernos de la salsa: "Tú no le amas, le temes", original del nicaragüense Luis Enrique, interpretada por Héctor Torres; "Qué hay de malo", popularizada por Jerry Rivera, en la voz de Félix Torres, y "Tú no sabes querer", uno de los tantos éxitos de Lalo Rodríguez interpretado por Ricardo Porrata. Grabado en los estudios United Sounds Productions en Miami, Florida con los arreglos y producción de Mike Rivera 'El Profesor', este álbum presenta innovadoras fusiones de la salsa clásica con son montuno, ritmos urbanos y romanticismo, reafirmando que sin duda esta es La Nueva Escuela de la salsa. Los miembros de N'Klabe son: Héctor José Torres Donato - De pequeño, los deportes eran su pasión hasta que la música lo enamoró. Su participación en competencias de talento y como miembro del coro del Colegio San José de Caguas, Puerto Rico, le ayudaron a darse cuenta de que había nacido para cantar y bailar. Héctor, nacido un 14 de junio de 1980, decidió perseguir la música seriamente cuando conoció a Félix en la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Cayey. Juntos integraron diferentes grupos tropicales y hasta compartieron el escenario con Jerry Rivera en un importante evento musical llamado El Congreso Nacional de la Salsa. El crecimiento profesional de Héctor como artista le ha dado un gran sentido de madurez y seguridad en la carrera que eligió. Siempre agradable y bromista, mantiene a sus compañeros muriéndose de la risa con su sentido del humor y ocurrencias. Félix 'Felo' Javier Torres - Nacido el 5 de noviembre de 1979, también tuvo un interés en la música desde muy joven. A la corta edad de ocho años tocaba el cuatro - instrumento de cuerdas de la música típica puertorriqueña. Mientras atendía el Colegio Notre Dame en Caguas, su creatividad musical comenzó a ser reconocida y ganó varias competencias de talento, probándole que su futuro era la música. Por dos años Félix cantó junto a diferentes agrupaciones en fiestas y otros eventos, mientras continuaba con sus estudios universitarios. Él es considerado como el 'serio' del grupo. Tras conocer a Héctor y compartir sus inquietudes profesionales, decidieron que tenían que integrar un grupo juntos. Ricardo Porrata - Nacido el 18 de octubre de 1982 en Chicago, Illinois, su introducción a la música fue en la iglesia de la comunidad cuando tenía unos cuatro años. A los 15 años, junto a unos amigos formó el grupo Ricky Luis. Al cumplir 21 años, se mudó a la ciudad de Nueva York porque su meta era estudiar ópera en la Escuela de Música de Manhattan. Esos planes cambiaron dramáticamente cuando conoció al manejador de N'Klabe, José Díaz. El resto, como se dice, es historia... N'Klabe irrumpió en la escena musical en 2004 con el disco Salsa Contra Viento y Marea, que recibió críticas muy positivas. Durante su corta, pero fructífera carrera artística ha recibido importantes nominaciones en diversas categorías en distinguidos premios de la musica latina como Premio Lo Nuestro, Premios Billboard Latinos y los Latin Grammy. El grupo fue postulado como Mejor Artista Nuevo; con su canción "Amor de una noche" recibieron una nominación como Mejor Canción del Año; seguida por una nominación como Mejor Dúo/ Grupo Tropical del Año y realizaron una espectacular actuación en vivo en la edición de Premio Lo Nuestro de 2006. Varios de los temas de sus álbumes anteriores alcanzaron el tope de las listas de preferencia y difusión radial en diferentes mercados a través de los Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico y varias ciudades en Latinoamérica. Los jóvenes cuentan con el respeto y respaldo de prominentes figuras salseras. Víctor Manuelle escribió el súper hit "I Love Salsa" y acompañó a N'Klabe en el éxito "Evitaré", ambos del disco I Love Salsa (2005). "Amor de una noche", de ese mismo álbum también se convirtió en un favorito instantáneo, al igual que la secuela de esta canción de despecho, "Ella volvió", de la producción A Punto de Estallar (2006), ambos temas con el ídolo del reggaetón Julio Voltio.

Of the four N'klabe records this is the standout. This is the final record the trio made together before two of the three vocalist left to pursue other endeavors. Yes, as with any N'klabe production you have your fair share of cliche, non-descript songs,and two cover songs that should have been immediately aborted. But the standouts are very strong and good interpretations salvage some of the mediocre material.Ricky and Hector flaunt their song-writing skills in the standouts, "El Dia De Tu Suerte" and "La Ultima Vez." Other noteworthy tracks include Obie Bermudez's "Amor De Agua," the title track, and the suprisingly impressive cover song "Tu No Sabes Querer." How ironic that perhaps their least commercially sucessful record is actually their best. Go figure.

This Cd is no joke... great to dance or simply listen to. Recommend it! They are without a doubt our new generation to salsa!
