Editorial Reviews

Clara and Nikolai meet at a rave. They return to Nikolai's apartment and frantically make love. Afterwards, instead of parting, the two lovers divulge their deepest secrets to one another. Though they are tempted to animas by all too common and divisive gender politics, politics they simultaneously fear and embrace, the friction between them is trumped by a common determination to bridge the gap that they realize afflicts the women and men of their lost, but far from hopeless generation.

Mind-boggingly genius storytelling and pure poetry from start to finish.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nuit #1 February 27, 2014
By Colten
Nuit #1 is an unusual film, and it should not only be praised for its attempts to do something different, but also forgiven for some of its flaws, given Emond is a first-time filmmaker. Sadly, the film lacks even an imperfect payoff, building to an emotional crescendo, but failing to find a thematic one. Paired with a severely lacking technical presentation and no extras, this is one to skip.
