i completely agreee with the other reviewers. this is a life giving film that intrigues me every time i watch it. why? because it is real life. no apologies, no sermons, no backing away. i am deeply sorry that mr collard is not around to enlighten us some more. the film is rough, tough and gritty, but so is life. i treasure this film among my favorites. this was his life and whether we love it, hate it or just accept it, he brings his life (right or wrong)to us in a film that cannot be more truthful or more sincerely portrayed as he has done. i admire his humanity.

This film centers on a bisexual in Paris who has a rough relationship with alot of people, including his parents, his girlfriend, and homophobics. The film itself is as realistic as fiction can get, and entertains without needing sensationalism. The end sequences, where time is filmicly altered to give someone a second chance at love, hit a deep current in me. This may be a 'gay interest' film, but for someone like me who is not gay but appreciates a courageous, quality film, this is an intriguing, unusual pick.

I just now discovered this movie. At first I was shocked because it was not something I expected to see. This one is definetly one of my favorite movies (I have my own copy of 'Savage Nights" film and a novel it was based on). It is very sad that the author is not with us anymore. I can realy admire him and his work for being so open and honest, I am sure locking those qualities. I give Cyril Collard and his movie a 10 star rating.

This is a film made by a man who knows he is dying, and wants to leave something of himself behind for prosperity. He gives us a real take on life - one that is hard to come by except from the viewpoint of one who really has started to appreciate the value of life, because he knows it will be taken away from him soon. He discovers and starts to understand the value of love, beyond his sexual activities, in particular through his girlfriend who has her own deep emotional problems. This film is full of real life characters and real life scenes, to such an extent I have not seen in any other film.

I have only recently encountered Cyril Collard's film "Les Nuits Fauves"and have been living inside it for days now . Only the very best of films can generate this kind of intensity . It is brilliantly cast and sensitively acted by all . He has dealt with a very intimate and personal situation in his life, as an aids victim facing the possibility of an untimely death , but creatively as well , injecting into this story, pulsating themes about love , desire, acceptance and human frailty. His gift to everyone who has had the privilege of veiwing this work, would be his honest and penetrating approach to a life lived and his liberating perceptions of its meaning and purpose that hopefully we may all hope to realise within our own. For myself , too, I am no longer afraid to live or to die. His creative talents , his films and his music , his person for those that knew him , are very much missed , I am sure. Love Tannis Curtis

This movie is touching and heartbreaking.The lovely Romaine is perfect in her role as Laura ,the devoted girlfriend.Its a shame it didn't get more notice in the States.

For my taste, this is one of the best French movies I've ever seen in recent years. It is bold and courageous, has a great story, and phenomenal acting. It is a big loss for all movie fans around the world that the person who made this movie is no longer here to make another one. This one is a keeper, buy and keep it forever.

Just stumbled onto this incredable film at the local video store and found it so very moving, funny and erotic that I can't stop thinking about it today. Damn Cyril was so good and his loss is unbelievable. The entire cast great and writing and production and well on and on. Did he do any other film work and is there a move to write his biography? I see him as the French James Dean, only more touchable and endearing. I just had to get this off my chest as even though I speak little French and saw the sub-titled version, I felt I understood each word deeper and more clearly and it shows there is no language barrier when it comes to greatness and love. Thank you Cyril and may you be in a far better place.

Didn't buy this item. It is not my kind of book. Don't know why this shows up on my list of purchases.
