5.0 out of 5 stars Finally A Great Compilation Of An Entertaining Series Comes Together, October 27, 2008
This review is from: Nuku Nuku The Whole Kitten-Kaboodle Collection (DVD)
I actually had only gotten the OVA dvd for this funny and entertaining series when I saw this box set and I knew I had to buy this one as soon as possible. The box set itself is the compilation of the nuku nuku series you get the OVA dvd, the t.v. series, and the dash episode series all together in this set. The series itself makes light of the standard mecha battles so don't expect anything hardcore like the Gundam series or Escaflowne. The series follows mostly of course on the character of Nuku an android with the brain of a house cat which was done by an over zealous and somewhat kooky scientist. The story itself somewhat differs between the ova, t.v., and nash series but not to much to really annoy people. The only more serious parts of this series box set would probably be the Nuku Dash episodes but again nothing as dramatic as the Gundam series. I loved the voice actors both for the English dubbed and Japanese Subbed. I especially enjoyed Megumi HAYASHIBARA as the voice of Nuku whom I'm sure fans know was also the voice for the Female Ranma of the Ranma 1/2 series and the voice for Lina Inverse of the series Slayers. The video for all the episodes is full screen and is clear and sharp no complaints. So if you're looking for a light-hearted mecha anime with hijinx and humor this series might interest your curiosity....

5.0 out of 5 stars Nuku Nuku The Whole Kitten kaboodle Collection, October 3, 2009

This review is from: Nuku Nuku The Whole Kitten-Kaboodle Collection (DVD)
I happened on this quite by accident i was lookin for catgirl anime cause i found catgirls hallarious, although this wasnt what i quite expected it wasnt a disappointed at all. Theirs not much i can say that hasnt been said already if ya like comedie in anime & catgirls this is well worth geting i absoultly love Nuku Nuku she's hallarious. Now for pros and cons this DVD set is a good deal ya dont get any extras (con) but ya get the whole collection (pro)and for the price ya cant go wrong considering what some anime cost. The 1 thing that you will note is that each set the QVA, TV, Dash series is differnt than the previous espically the Dash series. The QVA & TV series are more comedie based where the Dash series is more serious. Also in the QVA-TV series the inventor and his son are the same where in Dash the person who invented Nuku Nuku was a differnt inventor also the son of the inventor in the QVA-TV is younger. In Dash Ryu the son of the inventor in the QVA-TV is older around 14 i beleieve who happens to fall in love with Nuku Nuku. This was alright but i woulda perfered they left it the same as in the 1st 2 series also it got a tad anoying after 3 or 4 epiosdes of seeing him day dreaming about him and Nuku Nuku becomeing a couple wich never happens. Besides that it was pretty good has a good story line and rapped up every thing in the end pretty well. Although i thought the ending a bit sad at 1st. But if you like catgirls like comedie, and some action get this anime set ya ant go wrong. Also 1 other thing Nuku Nuku is not actually a catgirl although she refered to as a catgirl she a androbot with a cats brains just wanted to make that clear, she appears in QVA-TV as about a 15 year old girl in Dash she supposed to be 19.
