4.0 out of 5 stars not bad but ending let me down, November 3, 2009

i really liked the story and programming focus of this mystery in general. i did find myself skipping large passages not relevant to the story. the description of the cabin for instance felt like unnecessary detail. the ending while having good action left much to be desired as i was hoping for more of a conspiracy than what the resolution turned out to be. bottom line is that this was good but the geek mafia series is better for the techie mystery reader.

Just finished Null Pointer, Ken McConnell's latest. I enjoyed this adventure into the world of programmers and murder; would like to see more of this character and author. I'll hang onto this book and read it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Murder Over the Internet, March 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Null_Pointer (Paperback)
This mystery combines several levels of technology: the old ham radio communication that is still used today in emergency situations, today's computer programming and futuristic coding that may become possible. Joshua Jones is a geek with a history. He hangs out with other geeks and movie lovers in Boise, Idaho. When two programmers are discovered dead at their computer stations, Jones becomes involved in a web of high-tech crime. I found the plot to be intriguing and the impossible to be believable.
