Amazon.com

MIXDECK is a complete system for every DJ who blends different kinds of music sources. Whether your music is on CDs, MP3 CDs, USB flash drives, iPod, your computer, or even other analog players, you can mix and perform with it all using MIXDECK. This performance station has the traditional two-decks-and-a-mixer layout you're used to, but that's where time-honored DJ tradition meets Numark innovation.
Format Freedom
MIXDECK has two large, touch-sensitive illuminated platters and controls for cueing and scratching your music. Each smooth, fast, reliable, slot-loading drive works with both CDs and MP3 CDs. You can also connect a USB flash drive on each deck for access to thousands of MP3s without taking a computer or CDs to the gig.

MIXDECK's advanced platters are touch-sensitive for superb accuracy and smooth control.

Integrated dock and controls for iPod, so you can play tracks or even record your set onto your device.

Flexible input/output section includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outs. Click to enlarge.

The decks also work as software controllers. Just connect to your Mac or PC with a single USB cable and you're seamlessly controlling the music on your computer. MIXDECK's MIDI communication enables you to easily map virtually any DJ software for direct connection from your fingers to software. The USB connection can also receive two stereo audio channels from your computer, for mixing in software audio.

MIXDECK also has an integrated Universal Dock for iPod, so you can play tracks from your iPod and even record your set onto the popular portable music device. A dedicated iPod fader, physical transport/menu controls, and click knob mean you won't have to touch the iPod once it's docked.

Mighty Mixer
MIXDECK has a full-featured mixer built in. Each input channel has its own gain and three-band EQ/rotary kills (+12dB/ -INF). The mixer channels control the audio from onboard players, incoming audio from your computer, or external sources such as turntables, MP3s players and more. Two sets of stereo, switchable phono/line inputs are provided for external source, and the replacable crossfader has switchable slope and reverse so you can customize its performance based on your preferences.

You can work the room thanks to a 1/4-inch mic input with its own gain and ±15dB high and low EQ. There's also a complete cueing section with dual 1/8 and 1/4-inch headphone outputs, dedicated cue gain, and mini-crossfader control. Keep an eye on your master output levels with dual-color stereo LED meters.

The mixer boasts a flexible output section too, with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA stereo Main outputs, as well as Booth and Record outs for sending your mix to different locations and systems including recording to your iPod. There's also a direct stereo output from each deck for use with timecode control interfaces including Serato Scratch LIVE software or external effects processors.

Delightful Decks
MIXDECK's advanced platters are touch-sensitive for superb accuracy and smooth control of tracks on discs, flash drives, and software. The platters' outer rings illuminate for visual indication of deck performance and mode. You can adjust players to perform just like vinyl on turntables thanks to their independent start and stop-time controls on each deck.

FX Flavor
On top of playing all kinds of music media, each one of MIXDECK's decks enables you to add flavor to your performances with integrated, beat-synced DSP effects that include chop, echo, filter, flanger, pan, and phaser. Each is completely adjustable and a dedicated wet-dry fader controls them all.

Pitch Power
MIXDECK contains a set of beat and pitch tools that will help you with beat matching and harmonic mixing. Start playing a track and MIXDECK automatically analyzes its BPM (tempo), and displays it on screen. There's also a Tap tempo button for manual BPM entry. You can alter the track's BPM by ±6, 12, 25, and 100% using the pitch fader. For each of those ranges, you can also engage Key Lock, which holds the pitch (key) of the track while you independently manipulate its BPM. There's also a set of pitch-bend buttons on each track for quick tweaks.

Real Time Remixing
Get a complete range of remixing tools for on-the-fly creativity, including seamless looping on a set of easy-to-understand controls, sampling, and easily accessible hot cues. Numark's familiar Bleep/Reverse gives you the ability to keep time moving forward while you cut or reverse the track.

You can play tracks from discs in single-track, continuous, and programmable playback modes for flexible performance. Fader Start enables MIXDECK to start playing the track you have cued up when you move the crossfader for effortless transitions. You can also use Fader Start with compatible CD players.

Vivid View
MIXDECK features two large, backlit displays for keeping tabs on each deck even in poorly lit conditions. You can monitor BPM, CD and MP3 text tags, navigate folders, and keep an eye on effect status on these big, bright screens.

Recently i purchased the numark mixdeck. I fell in love with it the moment i got it. It is perfect for my need of being a mobile dj and moving from house to house party to party. It is light but not too small. It's super easy to use and its great for new and experienced dj's. You can sync speed and beats as long as you are using the TRAKTOR software that comes with it. It is so versitile and practical because it can play off of CD's, thumb drives and your computer.
Another thing i love about it is that you can play right off your ipod. The only downside is that you cannot control the highs, mids and lows on the ipod, the only options you have are the fading.

The effects are great, built right into the deck for when you are mixing with CD's.

All around it is a great system, and for the price, it gets the job done.
I love it. :)

Since Musician's Friend deleted my review of the Numark Mixdeck, I'll have to share my experience elsewhere. Truth is, I feel the need to share this everywhere I can so people have an accurate idea of what kind of built quality and support they can expect.

In the first 30 days of use, the Numark Mixdeck froze up on me twice in LIVE situations. I'm a working DJ. I do weddings, and in the off-season, fill in at local bars & clubs. This is unacceptable. The unit was released at over $1000 retail, has balanced outs, and spec-wise is a professional piece of gear. Unfortunately, the implementation is not up to par. Aside from the "freezes", some buttons are buggy and non-responsive at times, for instance the scratch button, even on the new replacement unit I got... Just like the last unit, sometimes you have to push it multiple times for it to engage. Also, sometimes when you disengage it, it's still on, even though the light is off. So you touch your platter to speed up the tempo and woops, scratch is still engaged.

Thankfully Musician's Friend's great 45 day guarantee saved the day, or I'd be shipping it to Numark for 6 weeks like another reviewer. I emailed support regarding this, and another issue, and never heard back at all. The worst support (or lack thereof) I've ever received. That's how you treat people who give you money for your undependable buggy equipment? Ignore them? Sorry, but there are way too many choices out there, and from companies who value their customers, and wish to continue in business.
If the Mixdeck was dependable, I'd give it 5 stars all day. It's a great concept, the functionality is great, it looks great, nicely mapped for Traktor etc.

The best thing about this unit, aside from all the features it boast, is that you don't have to bring your laptop. If you really want to use your laptop to mix then this probably isn't the best solution. Rather go with something like the Numark NS6 or NS7. On the other, if you want to ditch the laptop with all the config/software/BSOD/blah blah blah problems associated with it and hit the road as minimalist as possible, then this is the mix console to buy along with the Numark Case of course. Now all I have to bring with me to rock any party are two 16GB USB thumb drives loaded with identical music needed for the gig, my MIXDECK, headset and mic, two powered speakers with tripods, a powered sub, all the cables and cords, and nothing more. It's a one man show pushing 3000 watts of clean and continuous power, and everything fits in my Neon. The MIXDECK is the ultimate mixing system for the DJ desiring to be mobile, accessible, and flexible.

I bought the Mixdeck a few months ago and I have loved it ever since! Quick and easy install after a few minutes reading the directions. I have used the Mixdeck at numerous house parties and clubs and it always gets great attention from the lights and the look. Solid piece of equipment, extremely well built and durable.

I use this Mixdxeck with Virtual DJ Pro and they work flawlessly together. The Ipod, CD, and USB ports are all great features to have when you want to get away from mixing for a little bit.

Recommend buying a computer stand (if your going to use it with a laptop), a good pair of over ear headphones, and if you are going to be traveling with it definitely buy the carrying case!

AMAZING piece of equipment, everything you will need to start with and advance your skills. Very strong, durable, and efficient, and eye catching!

Recommend to anyone and everyone!

I've been using the mixdeck for about 4 mouths now and its been great, I've done one wedding and about 4 partys now with it and its never let me down. the cross fade is smooth and the pitch is flawless, the only down side and one of the reasons i bought this was for the midi because i wanted to remix song on my mac, and after maybe 15 youtube videos and trial and error i figured out only the tables are midi and the mixer isn't!!! so if you want digital sets you're better off with the ns 6 or 7
