5.0 out of 5 stars Definitive!, June 27, 2001
By M. Zabaroff (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have just seen the one star review from another 'fan' and felt it necessary to write in in case that person's remarks were to put someone off buying the cd. I've given it 5 stars because the album offers the best of what JJ Cale is all about. I have all his stuff and where as they all have their great moments there are very often albums with average material. For instance, '8' is probably his weakest effort but still has stuff on it worth buying the cd for. '10' does not have one weak song on it. Every song is definitive Cale. It's JJ Cale doing JJ Cale the best. None of the songs sound tired like they sometimes do. Basically if you like him definitely buy this cd. Don't listen to that one star review. Maybe he thought it was going to be John Cale. I find it hard to understand how anyone who likes him could dislike this. There are other great Cale albums like Naturally and Okie and you can put this in there with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a lovely collection of songs, December 23, 2000
By Nick Perry "nperry@collis.richmond.sch.uk" (Richmond, Surrey United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Having just read the previous review I have to disagree. This is a really mellow collection of songs. Of all of JJ's more recent albums this is certainly one of my favourites. There are some really lovely, relaxing songs on this album along with some excellent guitar work. Just listen to Traces, Artificial Paradise, Low Rides or Jailes. Spend a few dollars, put it on and mellow out!

4.0 out of 5 stars More Great Grooves, November 7, 1999
By D. Brown (Oak Grove, Mo USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Another wonderful collection of JJ Cale tunes and laid back grooves. For those of you who know his 90's work this fits in very well with Closer and Guitar Man as he here starts to explore the use of digital technology within the more familiar JJ sound. Traces has to be one of the best songs he's done. This cd is a welcome addition to my JJ Cale collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best " recent period "ones!
This is one of my most played 'later period' Cale discs, I can kind of understand how one of the negative reviewers doesn't get into the later stuff . Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars The Cd that stops me from buying anymore JJ Cale Cds
I never bought another JJ Cale CD after this one. I used to buy every one he made before even knowing what are on it. Can't pin point what it did to me, just simply turned me off.
