The Judds, with their great acoustic songs, were the heroines of traditional country fans in the eighties, and this compilation contains most of the essentials. As the title suggests, all these songs were number one hits in the country charts.

Of the songs here, I particularly like Mama he's crazy (in which a girl asks her mother's advice about a boy), Girls night out (a good time song), Why not me and Grandpa tell me about the good old days - just a few of the Judds classics included here.

One of many great songs that are not included here is Love can build a bridge, which is probably the song they are best known for in Britain. Perhaps it didn't make number one or perhaps the Judds had more number one hits than the record company were willing to include.

While this collection is far from complete, the sheer quality of the music here is undeniable. As such, it is a great introduction to their music, but note that full length CD's have previously been available in both Britain (Judds collection) and America (Essential Judds) so if you can obtain either of those, you won't need this.

This is a great cd. Every song it is good and has that quality to it that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. Also it's a great CD to drive w/ as it's upbeat but mellow and has great instrumentals too. Not one song on this CD is bad. I really love Wynonna's voice in Have Mercy and Turn it Lose and the instrumentals in Turn it Lose are really good too. I would recommend this CD to anyone as it's a very good all-around CD and is one of the best #1 hits cds/tapes I've ever heard.

Wynonna and Naomi hasn't made one song that I haven't liked. What and how they sing is a big part of why I listen to them. They are not only good singers, but they are VERY down to earth and they give a song their all, whether it's a soft song or a song that really rocks. This album is a very good example of their Judds work, however, since it only contains their #1 hits, many of their greatest hits are dismissed from this album. If you're looking to obtain a collection of their greatest hits, purchase the Greatest Hits volume 1 and 2. Otherwise, if you know Judd music well, you might be disappointed in that this is just another collection. (In this case, the 5 stars are reserved for the songs themselves contained within this CD). Very worth the purchase if you don't have their albums or greatest hits. I have all their albums and I still purchased this one. I have to say I'm still happy with it. :)

Its very rarely that I find a CD where I like every song equally. This album is one of the chosen few. Naomi & Wynonna put their soul into every song. From the rocking heartbreak songs to the soulful ballads this CD will captivate your intrest and get ya off of your feet. I recomend this CD to anyone who likes true country music.

The Judds Number One Hits

Naomi and Wynonna are a great country music mother and daughter duo. The music on this CD stems from the 1980's where they had many number one songs on the country charts. I enjoyed listening to them then as well as on this CD. The music is wonderful and is well-recorded, clear and very well-balanced. You can hear the diction of the singing, feel the beat of the music with toe tapping rhythm and the harmony of the voices match very well together.

There isn't a song on this CD that I didn't like. I found that this CD to be of high quality with a strong sound foot print. This is a CURB records CD out of Nashville, Tennessee released in the year 2000. The recordings exhibited very good acoustics, with a precise depth gradation, original dynamics and natural tonal colors as I played them on Blu-ray playback. The voices were especially clear and blended very well together. The musical background was clear concise and well balanced when paired with the voices.

The songs on this CD bring back memories and I enjoyed this music as I know you will as well. The CD has around 40 minutes of well-crafted musical sound. This is CD is well worth the purchase price, though is contains many number ones, the Judds musical out put also has other songs, but they didn't make number one status, nevertheless, look into other songs by them for further enjoyment.

This album was gotten as a MP3 download for my son's iPod. Amazon makes it very easy for an older non-tech savvy person like me. The download went easy from Amazon to our music library then onto his iPod. We have purchased several MP3 downloads from Amazon and will purchase more as we want to add music. I was very pleased with Amazon over the holiday especially for getting everything mailed or downloaded on time and with ease.

Other than "Love Can Build a Bridge," this has all the best songs by The Judds and all my favorites. I would definitely recommend it.

I almost forgot how great the Judds harmonize. These are timeless songs that are even more relevant in these times than they were when they were new. Few in "NEW COUNTRY" music will ever be able to match these ladies in talent, style, or pure entertainment. Long live the music of the Judds!

This album contains a lot of good music. Well worth the money spent to buy it.

This is a great compilation of the Judds' hits. They were a great mother/daugther duos. Theire voices harmonize well but are sufficiently different so that there is nice variation in the mix of pitches. The music on here is definitely country. There's a good mix of uptempo, energetic stuff and soulful songs. Particularly good songs:
