Obscure tracks, early demos, alternative singers and another "King Kobra" album for your collection., August 2, 2007
This review is from: Number One (Audio CD)
It is very common nowadays for old school bands to reunite, tour, record new albums and probably release old unheard tapes, forgotten even by them, on CD. Well in this case legendary hard rock drummer Carmine Appice has attempted to put together early demos, alternative versions and unheard tracks of his 80's glam outfit "King Kobra", shaped into an 11- track album.
One has to admit that the end result is very interesting; "King Kobra" fans will have the opportunity to hear tracks sung by Marq Torien and John Edwards as well as witnessing the dynamics of guitarist JK Northrup, giving a different flavor to the band. All this and much more under the consistent drumming of Carmine Appice, naturally present in every track.
Standout tracks: "Walls of silence", "Lonely nights", "Young hearts survive" and "Redline"

Re-Release of an earlier version, November 7, 2010
This review is from: Number One (Audio CD)
Unless you have the original 1999 release, released on Deadline Records - then there is no point in picking this up. The original version/release was entitled: "The Lost Years" with the exact same track listing. More or less out of print now - but to re-release it now for fans who didn't pick up the Lost Years version is a nice collection.
