Book Description

1894. The author attempts to compile a more complete explanation into the numbers found in scripture and the meanings within such numbers. He sets forth general principles and lends a few examples which illustrate each principle, as found within God's word. Part 1, Supernatural Design, discusses the works of God and the word of God, while Part 2 gives the spiritual significance of the ordinal numbers as well as other numbers found within the word of God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Making skeptics believe., April 17, 2001

This review is from: Number in Scripture: Its Supernatural Design and Spiritual Significance (Paperback)
I have been searching for this book for some years, and finally found it here, in print still. Bullinger shows thru numerical values, gematria, and other mathematical means that "the Bible has but one Author...carrying out His own infinite plans". He makes the mathematician love the scriptures and the religious love math. One of my favorite parts is when he is explaining Dr. Milo Mahan's work on the principle of number 8 and number 13, and he gets passionate with the validity of the Bible, as over and over he demonstrates with gematria that every single name of the Lord's people are multiples of 8 and every one who were His enemies, are multiples of 13. It is one of the only books of its genre that wasn't exclusively written for Jews.

5.0 out of 5 stars As Spock said "Fascinating..", August 28, 1999
This review is from: Number in Scripture: Its Supernatural Design and Spiritual Significance (Paperback)
Don't miss reading the book along with the Bible. Some of the tidbits in this book are worth a king's ransom, such as where 360 degrees came from, why there are 12 zodiac signs, why certain numbers are used in the Bible, etc. The book helps in making the Bible fun to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good Christian understanding of numerology, June 16, 2005

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I borrowed this book from a friend, and after reading it, I've decided to buy a copy for myself.
I am always happy to find out about God's original purpose and meaning for things that Satan and the occultists have stolen, perverted, and used for their purposes- things that were meant to help us better understand God and His purposes, which, as it was presented in this book, did in fact do-I felt a whole new world open up for me and I'm not as "afraid" of how I see numerology used all over the world because I understand it better-from God's perspective.
