It's a book on using Matlab to numerically solve problems. Includes numerical integration, differentiation and (partial)differential equation solving. What could be better?

Usually the exposition and explanation is good.

Examples are woefully few.

There are fragments of Matlab code. The book does not teach you how to write complete, working programs in Matlab or to do problems with it. I had to read another book to learn Matlab.

Overall not a terrible book but I would not recommend it.

I hardly came to class, but was able to get a B+ because this book explained things so well. I am not a studious student; however, this book made the course enjoyable, even to me!
I highly recommend!

The book itself is fantastic. It will continue to improve with newer versions, I am sure. Buying online is the way to go as I intend to keep this book and not re-sell it.
