Short, rapid presentation makes it unsuitable as a numerical methods source,

This review is from: Numerical Methods (Paperback)
While this book introduces the basic techniques of numerical methods, beginners will find it difficult to use. All of the standard topics of introductory numerical analysis are covered, but in only 234 pages that are very small (not quite 8" x 5"). No exercises are included. The formulas are presented in rapid sequence with few short proofs and only occasional diagrams. I would not use this book as a textbook as the students would have a very difficult time understanding it on their own.
