Exactly what it promises to be, "Numerology for Beginners" is an introduction to the study of numerology. Written in a basic, easy to understand manner, a complete novice can start examining the implications of numbers in their life right away. The single digit method of numerology is discussed and interpretations provided for each number and aspect. Each of your most influential numbers is examined as to how it affects character traits, energy levels, opportunities, and relationships. Gerie Bauer also discusses the vowel and consonant interpretation of names and how these can be used to understand your personality or the personality of others. For those interested in a basic introduction into numerology "Numerology for Beginners" is a recommended read.

I got this book a couple of years ago as a present from my godmother. She wanted to give me something that would give me a good grasp of astrology without the usual complicated calculations and compound numbers. This was perfect.

Some numerologists may complain about the lack of compound numbers like 11, 22, 33, etc., but for a beginner this information is cumbersome and can lead to errors in calculating a numerology chart. I think it's much easier to learn the numbers as a 2, 4, 6, and so on. I've never found that I got an off calculation for a person who had compound numbers in their name through using this book. My own name, for example, has a compound number because V=22 in most numerology books.

A terrific thing about this book is that it breaks down numerology both by name and by birthdate. So you can find out information about a person whether or not you have their birth info. She also gives you "quickie" methods for learning about a person through the first vowel in their name.

My only complaint about this book is that the relationship compatibility section is short. However, most of the other sections are detailed and you can get a pretty good grasp of the basics.

I'd say that you can benefit from this book whether or not you are a beginner, but if you prefer to study compound numbers, you should look elsewhere. I have to say that I've bought some other numerology books that were way more complicated and which had these confusing calculations to figure out the energy of a day in the future or surrounding a relationship in the future. This book keeps everything as simple as possible. You'll still have to do the calculations and learn the value of letters, but the author explains each calculation clearly and gives an example so that you can see if you are doing it right.

This book is very basic and practical. Numerology can be complex and tricky but you can find out the basics with this book.

I'm not a numbers person, so maybe that's why it didn't work for me, but I tried, believe me I tried and it was confusing. Figuring out the formulas just didn't work. I think their instructions weren't clear enough.
