About the Author

"God Does Not Roll Dice." Albert Einstein

Born on May 15, 1949 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Hans Decoz has been a student of numerology since 1969, when he discovered an old and rather worn out book on the ancient spiritual science in a secondhand book shop in Amsterdam. For many years, he experimented with the tools of numerology, reading and studying everything he could find on the subject. Hans traveled throughout Europe and Asia in search of more understanding and knowledge of the different forms and techniques used in numerology.

He used it to better understand his friends or acquaintances, for example, or to interpret various events on the universal as well as the personal plane. Only after he had overcome his intense skepticism was he able to see the practice as yet another example of the ultimate unity, integrity, and wholeness of the universe.

In 1982, Hans began practicing numerology professionally in Houston, Texas. By then, he had a deep understanding-- both of the science, as well as what it suggested about life itself. Soon he had a burgeoning practice, rich with the many strata of Houston's population -- from the hardworking housewife and laborer to the wealthiest of Houston's business elite.

Ever since he was a child, Hans demonstrated advanced abilities in mathematics and art. He loved to figure out complex mathematical problems and, once completed, put aside such work for hours at his easel where he produced drawings and paintings. These abilities eventually led to fascination with computers, for which he also had a special talent. Now he wanted to combine these native abilities with his understanding of numerology. He also wanted to make that understanding more widely available. In 1985, inspiration struck and Hans developed the renowned computer software program known as the DecozChart.

That program proved to be revolutionary. It was the first (and to this day it is the only) numerology chart-maker program capable of producing a complete numerology chart that included fifty years of forecasting cycles. The chart itself -- a beautifully designed layout -- was placed on a single page, visually capturing the many cycles and changes each person goes through in any 50-year period.

Following the chart-maker software program, Hans started working on a computer program that would produce a complete numerology report for individuals. After two years of writing, Hans called on his friend Tom Monte to help edit the data base of text files; together they devoted four years to the creation of a numerology program that provided people with complete personality profiles and future forecasts. Until then, no one had created a program capable of calculating a person's complete numerology chart, and then producing a unique report that described the meaning of each of the person's most important numbers. It is true that some small, rudimentary programs existed, but this was the first program that could produce an in-depth, personal reading that consisted of 25 pages or more. As everyone knows who has received their own personal reading, those numerology reports are written with incredible insight, compassion, and understanding of life. Hans Decoz currently resides in Galveston, Texas. He lectures and offers courses and personal consultations. Hans is currently working on his second book. His first book: Numerology; Key To Your Inner Self with Tom Monte, was published in 1994 by Avery Publishing Group, NY. The book has since been translated in several languages, including Russian, German, Turkish, and Dutch.

Tom Monte Tom Monte is a professional writer, having written more than 15 books, including the best-sellers Recalled by Life and Living Well Naturally, both with Dr. Anthony Sattilaro. Tom's work has been published in numerous leading magazines and newspapers throughout the United States and Europe. He resides in Amherst, Massachusetts. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I just absolutely love this book. As a teacher and professional numerologist, I recommend it to all my students. In fact, it is a required book in my classes. I consider it the best book on the subject, and I ought to know. I own more than 50 numerology books. The book is full of insight and reveals aspects of numerology I have never found in any other book. The authors have done a fantastic job.
It might be of interest to know that Decoz and Monte also created some of the best numerology software programs on the market.

The book is excellent. I know. I wrote it. And yet I ask you NOT to purchase this book. The publisher does not pay royalties to its authors, preferring to steal the 60 or 70 cents per book sold from the author. In addition, the publisher claims to own the copyrights when in fact the copyrights belong to the author. Do your share to prevent dishonest publishers from stealing from their authors.

Besides, you can get the same book at considerably less cost but published by Penguin Putnam and also available via Amazon. Better bound, better print, and almost ten bucks less expensive. Thank you. Hans Decoz.

My life-long interest in the occult, and specifically in numerology has inspired me to read pretty much every book ever published on this subject. There is no doubt in my mind that Numerology; Key To Your Inner Self, by Hans Decoz with Tom Monte, is by far the most thorough, concise, and insightful book on numerology available. The book is very well written and a pleasure to read. The authors have done a great job in explaining all aspects of numerology in considerable depth and with remarkable clarity.
I offer numerology classes and workshops and this is the book we use. My students love it as much as I do. I can recommend this book to anyone, whether you are an experienced numerologist or an aspiring novice, you will find valuable insight and spiritual gems throughout this book. I have used Decoz's famous numerology software for many years and between the book and the software, I have been able to help many people. I also want to mention that Decoz offers free chart calculator software to anyone from his web site at decoz.com. So, for those of us who are perhaps a bit lazy, we can let the computer do the math.

I've tried to get started with numerology several times, but I found other texts assume too much. This text starts from the very beginning and goes on from there. With defined "modules" or chapters, the reader starts to understand techniques and meanings via fun little exercises. After the reader completes a few of the chapters or "modules" he/she begins to realize some real understanding of basic principles is coming through!
The book is easy and quick to read. The exercises are fun and create a desire to learn more. If you are just starting, this is a great book. If you know the basics, move on to a more advanced text.

This is a great book on numerology for several reasons - 1) It's comprehensive and informative. You'll learn everything you wanted to know about the 9 numbers and the master numbers, and what your own numbers are; 2) It's very well-written and easy-to-understand. It's a bit like your typical astrology book; 3) There are very few errors.

The only drawback to this book is the layout (including the cover) which makes it look like a cheesy astrology book. But in reality its a very good book on numerology (especially for beginners).

A classic in its field, the Decoz Numerology book has an amazing amount of information. While many numerology books pad their chapters with duplicative or non-essential platitudes, Decoz provides pithy, thoughtfully written delineations. Stand out points include a very comprehensive discussion of master numbers, the cycles, pinnacles and challenges. His planes of expression are an uncommon intepretation...but highly accurate.

Readers of the book can also check the author's website, where he offers (or a fee) a very comprehensive companion computer program (it does all the calculations for you.) with an audio instructional program which contains step-by step directions on how to cast a chart, how to practice the art of interpretation and even suggestions on how to become a freelance numerologist. Great stuff.

I found this book very good for beginners and those wanting to get into numerology. It covers a lot of various areas and you can download a free program. But I did find with working out the 'balance number' from the book, that when using the programs chart calculator it gave me a different number. Which can give a totally different meaning. Otherwise the book is simple and easy to read.

Of the 30+ numerology books I have read, this is by far the best. Well written and smartly laid out, this book will show you the depth and insight of numerology like no other book. The free software offered by the author is the best numerology software on the market today. (I made reports for all my friends. Everyone is blown away by it.)
This Tan Kwan Seng dude did not feel his report was accurate, but with a Chinese name translated to English that is to be expected.
For anyone else, do yourself a favor. Get the book and the software. You can't do better.
