However, over the past few weeks, the exterior “plastic coating” has been peeling away. It appears to start where the upper meets the sole.
The longevity of these shoes has been very disappointing, considering the price paid ($85/ on sale for $69). I still wear my 20 year old Bostonian ($125), and 3 year old Rockport ($75) shoes. I would never have imagined an $85 pair of Nunn Bush shoes only lasting a few months.
Since this problems first started I went online and read reviews, including those on the Nunn Bush site. Many people report the same exact issue. There appears to be a design flaw with this product.
As stated earlier, the sole, foot bed and lining are very nice, but based on my experience with the peeling upper, I doubt if I’d be willing to pay good money to take another chance on Nunn Bush.
But frankly, I've given three of these pairs a try and all have failed.
They crack at the toe bend and the sole separates from the bottom.
The shiny top peels off on all parts of the shoe after it bubbles.
I have never had a shoe last this short of a time. Typically, I keep them for around 2+ years..and I typically don't spend this much on them! High price, terrible quality..I would not recommend these shoes, or this company.
