Excellent, if breezy, action adventure set in the closing days of World War II, and the months following. Based on true events, of former SS & Gestapo members attempt to disrupt the Nuremburg War Trials, and continue a guerrilla war following the surrender. The lead character, based on the real exploits, of a US Army intelligence agent, goes through adventures that would fit in any James Bond novel. As you read this fictional accounting one can easily think, 'what was it like when it actually happened?' An incredible journey, that builds to an exciting climax. Gift, as German speakers will realize has the double meaning, as Gift in German means "poison"

Robert Conot, the brother-in-law of Chandler Flickinger, wrote this book based on Chandler's experiences in World War II. Chandler, who recently passed away, was a fascinating person throughout his life and this was just one part of that wonderful life. Chandler Flickinger was a great personal friend of mine.
