This review is from: Nureyev Image (Hardcover)
I enjoyed THE NUREYEV IMAGE because Rudolph Nureyev was arguably the most important male ballet dancer of the 20th century, and I believe his legacy needs to be preserved. I had the honor of meeting Nureyev when I was very young, and, though the encounter was very brief, his kindness has stayed with me all my life.
Martha Graham said that all record of the dancer's art lies in other art forms, and that when a dancer dies, his art dies with him. With at least one picture - sometimes up to five - per page, we are fortunate to have THE NUREYEV IMAGE to record an art that, tragically, died in 1993. All pictures are beautiful black-and-white reproductions.
