An unforgettable one!, January 8, 2005
This review is from: Nurse Alice in Love (Ulverscroft Large Print Series) (Hardcover)
The first Theresa Charles mystery romance I read. Felt instantly in love with her hero and heroin. It was more than 30 years ago. The copy I got was a paperback renamed "Lady in the Mist" it also had the original title "Nurse Alice in Love". English Nurse Alice was employed to a mansion by the sea to take care the beautiful sick mistress. There was the handsome cousin who showed his interest in Alice, a rebelliant nephew girl, a misterious fisherman Strider and a dog Frodo. (I had my first lesson of "Lord of the Ring" from this book) If you love Mary Stewart you'll love this one (similar elements great plot humorous conversation). Her novels were hard to get in Taipei, but I managed to get 2 more of her books "The Windower's Wife" and "Fairer Than She". Both were great and the last one can be considered a masterpiece. This review is my tribute to a great author I'll always love.
