I've never read a complete script before, so thank you Showtime for providing this free opportunity. Of course it looks great on the Kindle and there is a nice full screen Cover showing Nurse Jackie. It is a quick read at 654 locations long. Brace yourself for some swear words. You'll also learn some medical terminology. And whatever you do, do not piss off Nurse Jackie! I found 3 typos: location 198 "the" --> then, 352 "JACKIKE" --> JACKIE, and 443 "hold" --> holds.

As an author and screenwriter, I can appreciate the hard work that goes into writing visually for the screen. It is the hardest form of writing. The Nurse Jackie pilot is well written and very concise in both action and dialogue. The goal of the screenwriter is to write in such a way to leave only one interpretation of the direction of the story. This removes ambiguity in both the actors and the director and the end result is what the writer originally envisioned.

The Nurse Jackie character appears to be a female version of the "House" character, a cantankerous head strong drug dependent medical practitioner who gets the job done anyway she can. It looks like it'll be a great series and I have great respect for nurses, and believe they are truly the ones in charge.

Nurse Jackie played by Edie Falco validates real world needs and traps. She is a great nurse with a bad back. By her snorting only 16 of whatever drug she is snorting, she believes she is perked just enough to get through the hours of her shift (although I think she uses more than once in a shift)without pain. But, is it pain or comfort that makes Nurse Jackie use?

To get the drugs Nurse Jackie uses, she is having an affair with the pharmacist--yet they both say they love each other. Sound a little dysfunctional? Of course it is, it's nursing. Edie Falco (extremely talented) plays the role of Nurse Jackie to such a believability, you'd swear she was really a nurse with an addiction. You go Edie!! Actually, Nurse Jackie is married with two daughters. All I can say is "Can't wait to see how Nurse Jackie's life evolves?" "Love the show." "I love Dexter too."
