5.0 out of 5 stars Much better!!, October 1, 2004
By
This review is from: Nurse Witch Komugi, Vol. 2 - We Need a Magical Girl, Stat! (DVD)
I saw the first, and now i've seen the second. I think the second was much better. In Japan the last 3 episodes were made quite a bit after the first 3, because of high demand for our nurse witch. Komugi looks SO much cuter (I didn't think it was possible!), and the animation seems much more clear.

This DVD was so good, I cried. I'll admit I AM emotional when it comes to movies and especially Komu-chan, but i've cried in only a few anime, and this was one. Of course I ended up laughing, because that's just what Komugi does to you. ^_^

This is the end of the series, and some of the main points of the series aren't answered, which I thought was odd, it seemed like the anime had lost its point. I still loved the ending, and thought it was super cute. ^_^ (no spoilers for you!)

"Nurse Witch Komugi, Vol. 2 - We Need a Magical Girl, Stat!" is just as funny as it's previous 3 episodes, if not funnier. I loved this 2nd DVD, definately much more than the 1st. It was funny, sad, ULTRA kawaii, and also showed many new MugiMugi Komugi outfits!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Nurse Witch Komugi, Vol. 2 - We Need a Magical Girl, Stat! (DVD)
What a great ending DVD! It didn't cover all Komugi's problems though! I really wanted to see her with Kyousuke, but I guess the SoulTaker Commitee didn't have any plans for doing that. But this one was definetly better than the first.

Komugi Nakahara wakes up one morning, and thinks that something good will happen today. Of course something is good unless you get hit by a truck... Now poor Magical Ghost Girl Komugi must get revenge on everyone who insulted her on her funeral! (This part was extra hilarious by the way) But wait! That's not all! This DVD also includes a parade of evil, a crazed school, a big-chested teacher, a strange hallucination, and yes, the bath house scenes. What a fun way to end a series!

4.0 out of 5 stars WRESTLING IDOL KOMUGI, September 17, 2006
This review is from: Nurse Witch Komugi, Vol. 2 - We Need a Magical Girl, Stat! (DVD)
What do you with a show if your main heroine gets hit and run over by a truck early in the first episode? Well, in Nurse Witch Komugi, you get laughs out of it, as Komugi's disembodied spirit hangs around, fully aware of the things her "supposed" friends are saying about her after her death, mainly about how stupid she was! After learning the truth, Komugi sets about ruining all their lives with her ghostly powers! The second episode is even funnier as Komugi takes the name "Muscle Cutie" and tries to become a wrestling idol, becoming so successful that an anime is being made based on her character. Due to the incompetence of the staff, Komugi herself has to take over its production. The last episode features a new menace as Komugi and her arch-enemy Koyori must team up against a brain-washing alien who disguises herself as a teacher.

Nurse Witch Komugi was an enjoyable show if you didn't take it too seriously and left continuity and realism at the door. It was sorta like Excel Saga but without grating on your nerves like that show sometimes did. Komugi was more complicated and more affectionate towards the anime conventions it made fun of. For example, there is a point on this volume where Komugi is driving the Mach 5, along with the Speed Racer music, which just gives you a great feeling of nostalgia in addition to being funny. It had a more sophisticated edge than most parody shows. Definitely worth seeing.
