From Library Journal
In this update of her previous book, Liman provides a comprehensive planning guide for the arrival of a baby. She suggests practical, innovative ways to find space, such as making niches in living rooms, other children's rooms, and even the bathroom. A checklist is provided with all the equipment, furniture, strollers, and playthings needed to care for a newborn. Scant instructions are provided for decorating techniques such as painting, but these directions can be found in other books, such as Annie Sloan's Decorative Paint Effects (LJ 1/97), using Liman's ideas on color, fabrics, and materials. A list of furniture and equipment resources is provided that includes mail-order catalogs, stores, and Internet sites as well as templates for planning furniture arrangement. Nurseries contains beautiful color photographs of all types of baby rooms, which will make it a nice complement to the black-and-white drawings found in Liman's book. Baby Space is highly recommended.
